Woman charged in father’s death

Patricia Blevins, 53, is charged in her father’s death.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Police said a Woodbridge woman is behind bars, charged in the death of her father.

Patricia Lee Blevins, 53, was arrested Friday in the death of 82-year-old Marden Warden.

On March 13, fire and rescue crews were called to the Residence Inn in Woodbridge, where the two were living, after Warden collapsed. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died, said Prince William police spokesman Mark Merriman.

An autopsy revealed Warden had a generic form of the prescription medication Zoloft, and crushed up Sertaline pills in his stomach, said Merriman.
Warden did not have a doctor and Blevins was taking care of him when he died. The two were living in the Woodbridge hotel.

Federal authorities were investigating her for prescription fraud at the time her father died, said police.
