Pro golfer’s father, retired Prince William cop missing

Police in Prince William County are looking for one of their own.

William “Bill” Hurley retired as a sergeant from Prince William County in the early 2000s. Hurley left his Leesburg home Monday night in his green truck and has not been heard from since.

On Tuesday at the Quicken Loans National tournament in Gainesville, PGA star Billy Hurley made a tearful plea for his father to return home. Hurley said he would play Quicken Loans in hopes his father would see him and return home.

Here is a statement from Leesburg police on Bill Hurley’s disappearance:

The Leesburg Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the whereabouts of Willard (Bill) Hurley. A missing person report was filed yesterday, July 27, 2015 by Mr. Hurley’s wife stating that Hurley left their residence voluntarily on July 19, 2015 and has not been seen or heard from since. Mr. Hurley left the residence in his 1998 Ford F150 truck, green in color with Virginia registration YWH-5898. The truck has a camper shell on the back.

After leaving his residence in Leesburg, Mr. Hurley utilized a credit card for gas in Woodstock, Virginia. On July 23, 2015 it has been determined that Mr. Hurley stayed overnight at a Hotel in Texarkana, Texas.

Mr Hurley is 61 years old, 5′-10″, 210 LBS, with Brown eyes and gray hair.

The Leesburg Police Department is asking that anyone who has any information or may have seen Mr. Hurley or his vehicle, please contact us immediately at (703) 771-4500. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call the Leesburg Crime Line at (703) 443-TIPS (8477). The department can also receive information from the public using a program called TIPSUBMIT. Tips about a specific crime or criminal activity can be sent by text, email or smartphone. Simply Text LPDTIP plus your message to 274637.
