City Tavern Moving; What Should Go Here?

MANASSAS, Va. — A staple business in Old Town Manassas, now called Historic Downtown Manassas, is moving out.

City Tavern has occupied a space in the Olde Town in at the corner of Center and Main streets for the past 20 years. The restaurant announced earlier this month this month it would be moving to the building that used to house KC’s Restaurant, at 9550 Center Street.

One City Tavern owner said rising rent cost was a big factor in the decision to move, so we don’t think the neighborhood’s name change had much to do it.

But we do want to know what you think should fill this spot once City Tavern is gone. Should it be another restaurant? How about a retail shop? An office building? How about a place where things are made? Tell us in the comments below:
