Instead of doing the usual act of buying a tie or hosting a cookout for Father’s Day, why not spend a full day with Dad. Whether a sports fanatic or music buff there are plenty of activities to enjoy in Prince William & Manassas.
Take Dad out to the National Museum of the Marine Corps for family fun at the Marine Corps Animals Family Day on June 14! Kids can learn about the contributions animals have made to the U.S. Marine Corps. Bond with Dad as you tour America’s history through the eyes of the Marines in the interactive museum. Go through boot camp or try shooting an M-16 in the laser rifle range.
Schedule your weekend with Dad around a game of golf. Take advantage of one of Prince William’s 12 public golf courses each offer varying challenges and picturesque scenery. Just opened this May, Potomac Shores Golf Club, is the first Jack Nicklaus designed publicly-accessible golf course in the region. The course features a hardwood forest outline, dramatic vistas, rolling greens, and holes that play along the Potomac River and Powell’s Creek. The spectacular par-72, 18-hole course features dramatic vistas, native wetland buffers and more than 200 feet of show-stopping elevation changes that will make you want to pack your camera.
