Stolen Cell Phones Valued at $10,000

About $15,000 in cell phones were stolen from a Radio Shack store in Stafford County.

The burglary occurred sometime after 3 a.m. Sunday at the store inside Washington Square Plaza in south Stafford’s Ferry Farm area. A glass door was shattered, and a store manager told investigators the cell phones have been removed from a cage in the rear of the store, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

Employees at a nearby Walmart store who told investigators they saw a suspicious red car drive back and forth about an hour before the burglary occurred at 3:27 a.m. They saw a man get out of the car, walk up to the front door and pull on it, and then going back to his car after finding the door to be locked, said Kennedy. The man did this several times, he added.

The store employees, who were outside of the store on break when they saw this, later went back inside and continued working, said Kennedy.

Anyone who may have saw something in this area is encouraged to contact Stafford County Crime Solvers.
