Fire, Water Damage Claim Luxury Apartments in Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Clean-up efforts are underway this morning after a fire engulfed an apartment inside a high-rise building in Woodbridge.

Disaster recovery crews were mopping up after fire broke out in an apartment on the 4th floor about 5 p.m. Friday afternoon. Crews were able to extinguish the fire, but heavy damage caused by water forced many to be displaced from their homes according to a fire department source.

The Prince William County Fire and Rescue Department that responded to the call has not released any information about this incident.

Flames broke out at 4480 Daisy Reid Avenue in Woodbridge, next to the Prince William County Government Center. According to a statement posted on a door of one of the three high-rise apartment buildings in the complex, no one got hurt.

“We are in the process of restoring the damaged apartment and fortunately no one was injured,” according to the statement.

The American Red Cross was called to the scene last night to assist the victims of the fire. They, again, were scheduled to be at the development’s club house at 8:30 a.m., according to the statement. At 10:30 a.m, no one was inside the clubhouse.

The statement also provided a telephone number for residents to call if they needed assistance. That number went to voice mail when dialed by Potomac Local News.

The apartment complex, Reid’s Prospect, is billed as
