Community News Site Breaks Record Readership

PotomacLocal.com has not only reached but exceeded 60,000 page views in a single month for the first time since its launch in June 2010.

A website with a hyperlocal focus on the community it serves, PotomacLocal.com was viewed 63,416 times in July by 23,366 unique visitors who trusted PotomacLocal.com as their source for breaking news and events in Dumfries, Stafford, and Woodbridge. The previous high for the website set in May, 2012 was 50,291 page views by 20,285 unique visitors.

“The investment we’ve made in building a community news and events resource from the ground up is beginning to pay off. We are thankful for our readers and sponsors who visit us every day to be apart of our connected community,” said PotomacLocal.com Publisher Uriah Kiser.

PotomacLocal.com is not only supported by its loyal reader base, but also a select group of community businesses and organizations that have partnered with the independent media site to grow awareness for their brands.

“With our unique focus on our local sponsors, we work hard to help brand them as local experts in our community, which helps to inform our readers who not only live here, but those who are considering moving here,” said Kiser.

Read by visitors from across the Northern Virginia region and the world, PotomacLocal.com covers the communities of Dale City, Dumfries, Lake Ridge, Occoquan, and Woodbridge in Prince William County, Va., and North Stafford in Stafford County, Va.

PotomacLocal.com is the only locally owned independent source of news and information published daily on the web in the region.

DMV residents who turn in their gas-powered lawn tools will receive a FREE Ego Power+ replacement including batteries and chargers, while supplies last.

Compared to gas, electric lawn equipment can reduce emissions, noise pollution, health risks and maintenance costs and time. The program aims to remove about a hundred gas-powered polluting tools from yards in the greater Baltimore-Washington region.

The exchanges will take place the weekends of May 17-19, 2024, and May 31-June 2, 2024, at A Few Cool Hardware Stores network of employee-owned Ace Hardware stores in the DC and Baltimore metro areas.
