Heat Slows VRE Trains
Expect a slower ride on Virginia Railway Express’ Fredericksburg line due to heat.
Passengers traveling south of Franconia-Springfield will notice about an 11-minute delay on the rails, according to VRE.
The host freight railroad, CSX Inc., has placed restrictions on how fast trains can travel on the lines due to the heat to preserve the condition of, and prevent cracking of the rails.
