Dumfries, Va. — The man believed to have fired a gunshot that grazed the head of a female pedestrian turned himself into police.
The incident began Friday evening at a basketball game at Gar-Field Senior High School in Woodbridge when a fight broke. Police were called and the unruly group was broken up, stated Prince William police documents.
But the unruly teenagers regrouped at nearby Potomac Mills mall. Though no fights broke out there, police were called once again to disperse the crowd.
At 10:44 p.m., teenagers then again met each other this time in Dumfries, at Old Triangle Road and Heth Court where another fight broke out, according to police documents.
One man, who now faces charges, pulled a handgun, fired shots, and the crowd dispersed, stated police.
The shooter then drove his car to the area of Old Triangle Road and Sigel Court and again fired shots – this time at two bystanders that had not been involved in the earlier fights, according to police.
A bullet grazed the head of one of the bystanders, an 18-year-old girl, who was taken to a local hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening. The second bystander was not injured.
Witnesses described the suspect’s car to police, but Prince William and Dumfries police were unable to make an arrest Friday. The next day, the alleged shooter turned himself into police, document’s stated.
Johnnie Pablito Kamara, 19, of Maryland, is charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and shooting from a vehicle, police documents stated.
