PL Box LogoSpring has tentatively sprung in the Potomac Communities, and this weekend’s PotomacLocal.com calendar definitely reflects the season.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA, will be busy protesting both the Lake Ridge “Fish “Out at Tall Oaks Pool, and the Ringling Brothers Circus at George Mason’s Patriot Center.  You can join the protesters, or the events all weekend long.

On Friday, children bwteen the ages 3 and 5 are invited to the University of Mary Washington for a “Preschool Palette” class at Geri Melcher’s home.  Further north, Woodbridge Senior High School will be presenting “Seussical the Musical” this weekend with Friday and Saturday show times.

Saturday, the Stafford Sheriff’s Office is hosting a community shredding event for $5 a box.  Fairfax County will be celebrating Earth Day with a free document shred, community cleanup and family-friendly presentations.  Leesylvania State Park will also be hosting an Earth Day cleanup on its grounds. Spotsylvania Towne Center will present a “Family Fun Day” on Saturday, as well, featuring Noah Munck from Disney’s “iCarly” show.

What is this?

Head out on Sunday to hear a combined choir concert at the University of Mary Washington, or check out the newest exhibit at the Quantico Museum of the Marine Corps titled “Native Words, Native Warriors”.
