Larry Clyde Casperson, 77 of Woodbridge, VA passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2020 in Woodbridge due to complications of COVID 19. He was born October 29, 1943 in Sturgeon Bay, WI to Clyde and Mila Casperson.
He grew up in Sister Bay, WI, attended Sister Bay Grade School and graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1961. Larry enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the U.S. Naval Medical Corps. He worked in retail sales in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio and then worked as a district manager for Peoples Drug in New Jersey. Larry found his passion for the commercial sign industry when he moved to Occoquan, VA. He was an independent contractor in the sales and design of commercial signage for over 45 years.
Larry is survived by his brother, Greg (Debbie) Casperson, Baileys Harbor, WI; special niece, Sarah (Brian) Quella, St. Cloud, FL; and very loved great-nephew, Jordan Quella. He is also survived by many cousins, other relatives and close friends from growing up in Sister Bay.
Larry was blessed with so many special friends in the Occoquan and Woodbridge communities that he always felt he had a second family there. Larry’s family wishes to “Thank You All” for your love and friendship given to him. He was so proud to serve the community of Occoquan as Mayor .
Due to COVID 19 and Larry’s wishes, services will be held in the spring 2021 with burial at Little Sister Cemetery, Sister Bay, WI.

Benjamin Martin Davis, Jr. (age 67), departed this life unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, due to cardiac arrest and a diagnosis of a unspecified cancer. Benjamin dedicated 24 years of service as Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, Army Reserves and DC National Guard until his retirement in 2005. Ben dedicated over 28 years as a Virginia Department of Transportation employee until his retirement in 2017, he never quit working unto the Lord. He unselfishly served so many family, friends, neighbors, co-workers. Ben never met a stranger, he was bigger than life, beautiful inside and out.
He is preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Davis Sr., his mother, Arlene Leroy Davis, brother, Bernard Davis, sister Renee Dyer. Survived by his loving wife, Rosita L. (Reed) Davis, mother-in-law, Bettye J. (Robert) Reed, sister Sheila (James) Brooks, brothers Nathaniel, Anthony Davis, Lester Ellis, sisters-in-laws: Estralita (Cecil) Mackerson, Margaret (Michael) Lindsey,. Ben was a loving father to nephews: Andre (Serena) Dyer and Bernard (mother Donita) Brown, and nieces: Ayanna (James Houchins), Bernatria Alexander, LaDonna Reed-Morton (Ricky), Bernadine Alexander and Brenda Reed-Miller, Crissy (Alyssa) Dyer and Rachel Reed, uncle to Michael Lindsey Jr., and Morgan (Shannon ) Lindsey, cousins, Diane Stiney, Kim Carter, Steve White, Jane Marie Garner, Janice Harris, Patricia Cooke, Sharon Bailey, Deborah Harrison Khatana, Tonya (George) Sharp and a host family and friends.

Alvenia was born on February 8, 1931, to Marie Olle Shaw and Thomas Henry Jackson in Detroit, Michigan. She was the second of five children, three sisters and a brother; Arletta (preceded in death), Jacqueline (Jackie), Marie (Tootie)(preceded her in death), and Mell (preceded her in death).  Alvenia attended Higginbottham ES, Post Junior High and Cooley HS in Detroit, Michigan. She also attended college. Alvenia accepted Christ at an early age.  She attended New Prospect Baptist Church on Wisconsin St, Detroit, Michigan, where she was baptized and sang in the choir. Alvenia’s first job was at SS Kresge Retail Store. She worked as the head cook at their lunch counter. During this time, she introduced her Stuffed Cabbage recipe to the store. While working at this store, she met and married Donald Christian Reeves Sr (preceded her in death). From that union there were four children born;  Donald C. Reeves Jr (preceded her in death), Gary R. Reeves (preceded her in death), Sharon P. Reeves (Pindle) and Randy Reeves (preceded her in death).
Alvenia loved singing and cooking. She was always singing while she was cooking. She also loved to travel and shop, especially on QVC.
Alvenia worked for Detroit Edison Electric Company as a Supervisor and Head Certified Chef of the Food Department, until she retired.
Later in life she changed membership to People Community Church in Detroit, Michigan where she was one of the lead soloists in the choir. She raised her children and ensured that they received the teachings needed to begin an everlasting relationship with Jesus Christ. She attended this church until she moved to South Carolina.
Alvenia moved to Woodbridge Virginia in 2008 with her daughter Sharon. She attended and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church, Woodbridge where she was part of the Golden Eagles Noon Day Fellowship. She attended the noon day fellowship until her dialysis treatments were schedule during that time. She sang in the Ethel Chinn Senior Choir. She loved to sing the Lord’s praises. She was truly blessed with an angelic voice.
Alvenia was a strong woman. She was caring, loving, sweet and an exceptional mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend.
The Lord blessed Alvenia with her well earned “Wings” on Thursday, December17, 2020 at 3:33am.
Alvenia leaves to cherish her memories; her sister Jackie Hall, brother-in-law Wilson Hall, her daughter Sharon Pindle, son-in-law Arnold Pindle, twelve grandchildren; Michael, Kevin, Reginald, Ramone, Gary, Lawanda, Jeremy, Shaynon, Alfred (Freddy), Rondonia (Nia), Khrystina and Richard (Ricky), a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, best friend Ma Drake, childhood friend, J.T., and friends.
Our beautiful, strong, caring and loving, wife, mother, sister, Ma and friend Frances (Fran) Laskofski, age 70 passed away at home on Thursday, December 24, 2020. She was surrounded by lots of love and her family.
Fran was born to the late Paul and Connie Arcudi on December 30, 1949. Born and raised in Pittston, Pennsylvania, she grew up with two older sisters, Connie and Janie, and was also close with her large extended family. She attended Wilkes University, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and took graduate courses in education.
Fran was naturally caring and compassionate. She took a genuine interest in other people and made friends everywhere she went. Throughout her life she stayed connected and continued to nurture friendships with her school friends, neighbors, co-workers and others.
Fran worked at Garrisonville Elementary School in Stafford, VA for 25 years where she taught fifth grade. She loved teaching and made an impact on countless student’s lives. She was a natural with children and was a leader among her peers serving as a mentor to young teachers.
Fran was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Triangle, Virginia and recently joined the choir which had been a lifelong goal for her.
Fran’s greatest accomplishment and passion was her family. She was married to Wayne Laskofski for 49 years. They had 3 children and 9 grandchildren. Fran and Wayne enjoyed traveling and spent much of their retirement enjoying trips to Europe, Yellowstone Park, The Smokey Mountains, Vegas, numerous cruises around the world and her “Happy Place” in Myrtle Beach. She was an avid Washington Nationals fan and enjoyed going to games in her Nats gear. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren hosting everyone at her house for family dinners and gatherings. Ma (as her grandchildren called her) loved her grandchildren with all her heart and enjoyed spoiling them with love all the time, never missing a chance to cheer them on from the sidelines at their many activities.
Fran is survived by her husband, Wayne Laskofski; her three children, Michael Laskofski (Clare Laskofski), Laura Laskofski (Richard Mann), and Karen Bennett (Michael Bennett); nine Grandchildren, Kiera Laskofski, James Laskofski, Andrew Laskofski, Sara Laskofski, Isaac Mann, Francesca Mann, Anna Bennett, Livia Bennett, Ella Bennett; Two Sisters Connie Katsock and Eugenia Arcudi.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2020 at 1:00pm at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Triangle, VA. The church will follow COVID-19 guidelines and limit attendance to 160 with social distancing and masks required. We know that many will not be able to attend in person so we will provide details on how to access a livestream of the mass.
