Manassas Park Cougar Literacy Run (Virtual Event)

Join us for this beloved, Manassas Park tradition that went global in 2020! As a participant, you have the opportunity to choose the day, time, and course for your $5 5k or FREE 1 mile run/walk.

The Cougar Literacy Run is a community 5k and kids’ fun run to promote literacy and wellness for our students. Prior to race day, students at our Pre-K-5 buildings take part in a reading challenge. This year’s race, like in 2020, will be a week-long virtual event. Proceeds from the event go to purchasing print and digital resources to enhance literacy and integrate mathematics, science, and social studies learning at our Pre-K-5 campuses. Each participant will receive a commemorative race magnet, designed using the winning drawing from our annual student contest. Each registered participant will be mailed a magnet upon the conclusion of the virtual event. Raffle prizes and a silent auction will also be included in this year's event. Last year, we had participants from all 50 states and 5 continents! This year we are trying to cover the East Coast, a distance of 1,954 miles! Will you help us reach our goal while supporting literacy in our schools?
