1908 Playground Project At Potomac View Elementary

The Omicron Chi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated® will host its local AKA 1908 Playground Mobilization Community Impact Day at Potomac View Elementary School (14601 Lamar Road) in Woodbridge, on Saturday, May 20, from 7:30 a.m. to noon followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony with elected officials from Woodbridge, VA.
The AKA 1908 Playground Project is Alpha Kappa Alpha’s National Impact Day, in which members all around the world take part in a massive playground clean-up and restoration project. The Sorority members are committed to restoring and renewing 1,908 existing community and school playgrounds with its Restore, Refresh and Renew Project? over a 4- year period. This year, the local chapter members, family and friends will renew the Potomac View Elementary playground by restoring playground equipment, painting four squares, hop scotch and a massive United States map on the playground’s black top surfaces, in addition to planting flowers and trees.
