WOODBRIDGE, Va. - Tuesday night, police spoke with a woman who said that after a verbal fight with a male friend, the man assaulted her and started to choke her. The woman was sent to the hospital and the man was arrested.

Malicious Wounding | Strangulation | Domestic Related – On July 29th at 10:38PM, officers responded to the 2900 block of Fox Lair Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic incident. A caller reported to police that a woman was heard screaming from one of the apartments in the above area. Officers arrived and continued to hear screaming. After officers attempted to get someone to answer the door, they forced entry into the residence. Once inside, officers separated and identified the parties involved. The victim, a 22 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assault the victim and, at one point, began to choke her. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
