WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A speed trap helped to nab a woman who authorities said was involved in the stabbing of a man in Woodbridge.
Police about 3:30 p.m. Sunday were called to the 13900 block of U.S. 1 in Woodbridge, where a man was stabbed in the arm outside of a convenience store. Police said the victim was apparently stabbed by an acquaintance, and was later flown to a hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening.
On May 22, the victim was able to provide police with the description of his attackers. Detectives then obtained warrants for two suspects.
Emanuel Lorenzo Myers, 30, of 13721 Jefferson Davis Hwy #99 in Woodbridge, turned himself into police, and is charged with malicious wounding, according to police documents. A second suspect, 24-year-old Stephanie Jessica Taplin, of the same address, was arrested in Washington, according to police documents.
Those same documents state a Prince William police officer at 11:37 p.m. Tuesday was running radar to catch speeders in the area of Prince William Parkway and Minnieville Road in Woodbridge. The driver of the car, determined later to be Stephanie Taplin, ignored the officer’s emergency lights as he attempted to stop the car, according to police documents.
She will be held until she is extradited to Prince William County, where she faces malicious wounding, felony eluding and reckless driving charges.
