William David Peed

William “Billy” David Peed was born on July 2, 1930 and passed away peacefully at his home on November 25, 2020. He lived most of his life in Woodbridge VA. He was the beloved husband of Edith Mae Peed for 60 years. Mr. Peed retired from the RF&P Railroad in 1995 having worked there for over 30 years. He lived a very dedicated Christian life, was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Woodbridge for 78 years, and the longest tenured member of the congregation. He was most proud of his many years working with the Royal Ambassadors boys youth group of the church. He was very generous, often giving whatever was needed to family and the community. He was known for refurbishing bicycles and giving them out to children in the neighborhood.

Born to the late Robert Alexander and Bessie Eugenia Peed in King George County, VA, he was the third of six children. He was predeceased by his loving bride, Edie Mae and brother Dale. He is survived by a daughter, Melodie Cox of Manassas, VA; a son and his spouse, Wade D. Corder and Richard Hildebrand of Springfield, VA; sisters Eloise Tolson and Frances Lane, brothers Owen (Joan), and Jimmy (Susan). Also, by his grandchildren, Gina Penley (Bill), and Daniel Cox (Amanda); and great grandchildren, Briana McDonald, Lucas Cox, Taylor Cox, Kyle Penley, Bryce Penley, and Kamryn Cox. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he loved very much.

He was such a fun-loving man. He enjoyed boating and camping but his favorite hobby was fishing. He always had a smile on his face.  He was always kind and forgiving to everyone.  His favorite passage from the bible was the 23rd Psalm.

He will be greatly missed.
