Update: Suspect charged with discharging firearm within 1000 feet of school, reckless handling

MANASSAS – (Press Release) On November 29, 2018 at approximately 1:51 p.m., officers of the Manassas City Police Department responded to the area of Signal Hill Rd and Fairview Ave for a report of shots fired. A witness reported to police they observed a subject discharging a firearm from a vehicle. Based on information from a witness, the Prince William County Police Department was able to locate the suspect vehicle. The Prince William County Police Department pursued the vehicle after it failed to stop. At the conclusion of the pursuit, two subjects were taken into custody by the Prince William County Police Department (See Prince William County Police’s release for additional information). After an investigation by Manassas City Police Department detectives, the passenger, Alexis CARRASQUILLO SANTANA, was charged with willfully discharging a firearm within 1000 feet of a school and reckless handling of a firearm. CARRASQUILLO SANTANA is currently being held with no bond at the Prince William County Detention Center.

On November 29, 2018 at approximately 1:51 p.m., officers of the Manassas City Police Department responded to the area of Signal Hill Rd and Fairview Ave for a report of shots fired. A witness reported to police they observed a subject discharging a firearm from a moving vehicle. There have been no reported injuries or property damage in connection with this incident. As a precaution, schools in the area were placed on a “secure the building” status which has since been lifted. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. The investigation is on-going.
