Home Instead Senior Care Co-Founder celebrates CAREGivers

MANASSAS — On May 9, Home Instead Senior Care Co-Founder Lori Hogan arrived to celebrate the company’s “CAREGivers.”

The local home care business specifically honored their in-home care providers, employees who care for senior clientele, with tenures of at least 5 years, during a Thursday brunch.

Hogan came from Home Instead’s headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska, to Manassas to celebrate the CAREGivers. It’s the first time Hogan has made the 1,200-mile journey, according to Jack St. Clair, owner of Home Instead Senior Care.

Franchise Co-Owner and Social Worker Jacqueline St. Clair says it’s all about serving seniors.

“We are celebrating our CAREGivers because they are the heart of our business. They are dedicated to the caring of seniors, helping them to stay out of the hospital and to maintain a high quality of life. Our seniors have made a decision to age in place and we want to assist them,” St. Clair said.

The owners, Jack and Jacqueline, are a husband-wife team who opened the Manassas office nearly 13 years ago. They have grown to employ over 230 caregivers who provide services in Prince William, Fauquier, Loudoun and portions of Fairfax counties. The company also has an office in Leesburg.

For Jack St. Clair, providing a platform for his employees to serve seniors is rewarding.

“Initially, my primary motivation was serving seniors and that has remained. What I didn’t necessarily see coming is that I find it extremely rewarding to provide an employment opportunity for people who have the passion of caregiving,” Jack said.

The event also welcomed an appearance by Manassas Mayor Harry J. Parrish II who expressed his gratitude for the CAREGiver’s work. In his remarks, the mayor mentioned the recent loss of his mother and how he witnessed the dedication of caregivers first hand. Town Council Member and State House candidate Ian Lovejoy also attended.

Since Lori and Paul Hogan founded Home Instead Senior Care in 1994, the company has grown into the largest senior care business of its kind in the world. In 18 years, it has provided services to nearly one million seniors through a network of over 900 franchise offices located in the U.S., Puerto Rico and 15 other countries.
