Woodbridge man accused of going on spree, stealing thousands in goods from stores

STAFFORD — A Woodbridge man is in custody and is charged with grand theft after police said he stole over $900 worth of merchandise from a Walmart in Stafford County.

He’s also a suspect in two other larceny-related incidents that occurred at Home Depot.

Surveillance footage showed the suspect stealing generators from the store on March 12, 2019, and October 30, 2018. On March 12, 2019, the suspect was seen leaving the store with an unpaid generator valued at over $1,000. The same person was seen leaving the store on October 30, 2018, with an unpaid generator valued at $999.

The man is also suspected in a larceny that occurred on April 14, 2019, at the Walmart located at 11 Village Parkway in southern Stafford County. On that date, units with the Stafford Sheriff’s Office were called to the store after a customer said she saw two men leave without paying for a full cart of merchandise.

Shortly thereafter, the suspects were located in a vehicle traveling in the area of the I-95 northbound entrance ramp. Four unopened hoverboards and clothing items totaling over $900 were found in the trunk of the vehicle.

On May 8, 2019, arrest warrants were obtained warrants for grand larceny on Severn Jackson, 36, of Woodbridge for stealing from the Home Depot located at 305 Worth Avenue on two occasions, said Stafford sheriff’s spokeswoman Amanda Vicinanzo.

Jackson was taken into custody on charges of grand theft and conspiracy to commit a felony. He was also served an outstanding larceny-related warrant from Manassas.

The suspect was incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond, added Vicinanzo.
