Gracie Louise Taylor

Gracie Louise Taylor, age 90, of Fairfax, Virginia went to be with the Lord peacefully at home before being taken to Inova Fair Oaks Hospital Tuesday, April 11, 2017 .

She was born on April 6, 1927 in Durham, North Carolina the daughter of the late Charles P. and Mattie (Williams) Medlin. She was retired from the Naval Investigative Service Headquarters after 23 years as a Supervisory Security Specialist..

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Taylor; one brother, William (Bill) Medlin; four sisters, Arnette Hicks, Velma Moser, Dorothy Southerland, Nellie Medlin. Also her dearest best friend Barbara Siron.

Survivors include her daughter, Maurica G. Rodgers and husband George of Manassas, VA; three grandchildren, Shelley C. Dye and husband Donald, Burton Jay Rodgers and wife Tara, their children Noah and Hayden Jerry M. Rodgers and wife Stacey; three great grandchildren, Wyatt T. Dye, Lilly A. Rodgers, Cody J. Rodgers. Her sister-in-law Pat Couch and Brother-in-law Willie Taylor. Also nieces, nephews and dear friends she loved.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00pm Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA where a funeral service will be held at 7:00pm with Rev. John Eichelberger.

An additional service will be held at Clements Funeral Home, 1105 Broad St, Durham, NC with interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Durham, NC
