Nelson charged with reckless handling of a firearm

A man has been charged with reckless handling of a firearm after firing shots toward the victim when their argument escalated. 

According to police, no injuries were reported.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On December 31st at 9:37PM, officers responded to the Hooters located at 8503 Rixlew Ln in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shots fired call. The accused reported to police that he was involved in a verbal altercation with the victim, a 31 year old man of Manassas, outside the above business. During the encounter, the accused brandished a handgun and fired toward the victim missing him. When the parties separated, the accused left the business then contacted police. Officers arrived and detained the accused without further incident. No injuries were reported. Minor property damage was reported by the business. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
