The ceremony takes place at 2:00 p.m. in the new plaza in front of the Stafford Courthouse, 1300 Courthouse Road, Stafford, VA 22554.

The Colonial Forge High School ROTC Color Guard will present colors and Anita Dodd of the Cemetery Committee will speak about Master Sergeant Grey.

Woodbridge

Potomac Mills Mall

With pools opening and barbeques filling the summer air, DC area shoppers will have two amazing options to save big this Memorial Day.

From Friday, May 22 through Monday May 25th, Arundel Mills (Hanover, MD) and Potomac Mills (Woodbridge, VA) will come together to host the Memorial Day Weekend Super Sale. With both malls only a short drive from DC, savvy shoppers will be able to experience blow-out deals at over 400+ stores across the two malls. On top of everyday savings of up to 70 percent, this “one great sale at two great malls” is a not-to-be missed shot at unsurpassed savings, entertainment and fun for the whole family.

Traffic & Transit

I-95 Express Lanes

As we approach Memorial Day weekend – and the summer travel season – regional travelers will increasingly be affected by additional volumes of traffic on I-95, including customers on the 95 Express Lanes.  Here’s what drivers can expect when traveling southbound through Prince William County during peak travel times:

Express Lanes travelers will see an advisory sign in advance of the Quantico/Joplin Road exit, which alerts drivers of congestion ahead on the Lanes.  The sign will indicate approximately how far ahead the delays begin, for example “CONGESTION 3 MILES AHEAD”

Drivers can use the information on the sign to decide whether to exit the Lanes at Joplin or continue to Garrisonville Road

If delays increase, signage before the Joplin Road exit  will advise travelers to exit to the regular lanes using the message “EXIT NOW TO AVOID DELAYS”.

Virginia Railway Express (VRE)

In observance of Memorial Day, VRE will not operate service on Monday, May 25th. Service will resume on Tuesday, May 26th.
