No charges were placed against the second juvenile.

Update

Two 17-year-old males are in custody after a gun scare outside Manassas Park Elementary School.

Witnesses told police they spotted two people in the woods behind the school with what appeared to be a rifle with a scope attached, according to Manassas Park police spokeswoman Karen Barton.

A bus driver saw the two approaching the school at 3:06 p.m., about the time classes were about to dismiss.

The school was placed into a lockdown status and all students, faculty, and staff were sheltered in place. No one was injured, and the lockdown was lifted about 5 p.m.

The identities of the juveniles were not released. It is unclear what the two teens will be charged with.

Students were placed on lockdown until about 4:40 p.m. Students are now being released from their classrooms and onto buses, according to the police spokeswoman.

No one was injured. No charges have been filed in the case, the spokeswoman told Manassas Local.
