2 Elementary Schools Burglarized

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. – On July 30 and 31, Police went to two elementary schools to investigate burglaries. 

Here’s the latest from Prince William police;

Burglary to a School | Grand Larceny – On July 31st at 7:46AM, officers responded to Lake Ridge Elementary School located at 11970 Hedges Run Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. Staff reported to police that the burglary occurred between 4:30PM on July 30th and 5:15AM on July 31st. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the school through a temporary plywood door to the building due to ongoing construction. No property was missing from the interior of the school. A construction trailer located on the property was also entered after the padlock was broken and removed. Copper tubing, total value around $1,250, was reported missing from the trailer. 

Burglary to a School | Destruction of Property – On July 30th at 10:31PM, officers responded to River Oaks Elementary School located at 16950 McGuffey’s Trail in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. Staff reported to police that the burglary occurred between 4:30PM and 10:30PM. The investigation revealed that three windows to the school were discovered broken. The suspect(s) then made entry into the school and moved several items. A water hose was also placed inside one of the windows and turned on causing an unknown amount of damage. A police K-9 was used to search the interior of the school building. No suspects were located and no property was reported missing. Damage to the windows was estimated around $1,200.

Compared to gas, electric lawn equipment can reduce emissions, noise pollution, health risks and maintenance costs and time. The program aims to remove about a hundred gas-powered polluting tools from yards in the greater Baltimore-Washington region.

The exchanges will take place the weekends of May 17-19, 2024, and May 31-June 2, 2024, at A Few Cool Hardware Stores network of employee-owned Ace Hardware stores in the DC and Baltimore metro areas.
