Manassas Park a Finalist in $100,000 Dog Park Contest

MANASSAS PARK, Va. —  It hasn’t gone to the dogs yet, but Manassas Park has made it into the finals in a competition to receive a newly constructed dog park.

The city located inside Prince William County is a participant in the “Bark for Your Park” contest where $100,000 is up for grabs for construction of a new park. PetSafe is sponsoring the contest, and that’s where you can go vote to help the city win.

Even if the city doesn’t win the big cash prize, it could be one of four finalists that are awarded $25,000. Manassas Park is one of 15 finalists.

Manassas Park does have a makeshift dog park behind its popular community center. City officials established a committee to identify where a dog park should go but have not released the names or locations of potential sites for a permanent park.
