Manassas Crime Report: SUV Driver Trailed, Assaulted

Manassas police reported the following incidents in this unedited press release:

Assault & Battery

At approximately 12:10AM on June 6, 2014 Manassas City Police met with two residents for a report of an assault that took place earlier in the night.  The reporting party told officers that at approximately 9:15PM on June 5th they stopped at 9108 Centreville Rd to fill their vehicle with gas when they observed a white GMC or Chevrolet sports utility vehicle (SUV) occupied by five Hispanic males staring at them from the Kia property located at 9100 Centreville Rd.  Feeling threatened, the victims left the scene and drove away with the SUV following closely behind.  The reporting party told officers they came to a stop on a residential street in the Point of Woods area and the suspect vehicle stopped behind them.  A Hispanic male exited the SUV, approached the victims’ vehicle, and struck the driver in the face several times.  The second victim, who was riding in the passenger seat, exited the vehicle to assist the first victim and was assaulted by two or three more of the suspects.  Both victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and nothing was reported stolen during the incident.
