Crime Watch: 2 Charged in Separate Child Sex Assaults

Prince William police reported several arrests that took place over the weekend.
Here’s an unedited report written by the police department:
042114 offordForcible Sodomy | Indecent Liberties with a Child – On April 19th at 10:10AM, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence in the 12900 block of Tonka Ct in Woodbridge (22193) on April 18th. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 5 year old girl, was sexually assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance, at his residence in the above area. Furthermore, detectives learned that the encounter had been recorded by the accused. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Renardo Lamont OFFORD Jr., 23, of 12948 Tonka Ct in Woodbridge
Charged with forcible sodomy, taking indecent liberties with a child, andmanufacturing child pornography

042114 harrisonCarnal Knowledge | Indecent Liberties with a Child – On April 20th at 4:45PM, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in the 15700 block of Widewater Dr in Dumfries (22025) on April 17th. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 13 year old female juvenile, was sexually assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance, while sitting in a vehicle in the above area. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Paul Woodrow HARRISON, 22, of 118 Oak Dr in Stafford
Charged with 2 counts of carnal knowledge and 1 count of taking indecent liberties with a child

042114 jacksonAttempted Malicious Wounding | Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On April 19th at 12:51AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 7300 block of Castle Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic disturbance. The victim, a 44 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted and bit the victim to her leg. At one point, the accused grabbed a knife and charged towards the victim. Another occupant of the home was able to intervene to separate the two parties. Officers arrived at the home and were investigating the incident when the accused pushed an officer. Minor injuries were reported by the victim. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with attempted malicious wounding, assault & battery on a LEO, anddomestic assault & battery

042114 maynardStrangulation | Assault & Battery – On April 20th at 2:50AM, officers responded to the IHOP located at 8300 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a fight. The victims, a 24 year old man of Manassas and a 26 year old man of Catlett, reported to police that they were standing in the parking lot with another friend when an unknown man approached them and starting assaulting one of the victims. At one point, the man struck the other victim and began to choke him leading to a struggle. The man also struck the victim’s vehicle multiple times before leaving the area on foot. Minor injuries were reported. Responding officers located the man, identified as the accused, in the parking lot where he was detained without further incident. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Andrew Joseph MAYNARD, 22, of 130 Denver Dr in Manassas Park
Charged with 2 counts of assault & battery, 1 count of strangulation, and 1 count ofdestruction of property

042114 cookStrangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On April 19th at 3:10PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15000 block of Oak Crest Ct in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a domestic disturbance. The victim, a 13 year old male juvenile of Dumfries, reported to police that he and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation the night before. The altercation escalated and, at multiple points during the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim by his neck. At one point, the victim reportedly was unable to breathe. The victim also reported that the accused struck the victim to his head. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

David Vandon COOK, 45, of 15604 Rhame Dr in Woodbridge
Charged with strangulation and domestic assault & battery

042114 wesselAssault & Battery on a Correctional Officer – On April 19th at 9:00AM, officers responded to the Adult Detention Center located at 9320 Lee Ave in Manassas (20110) to investigate an assault on a staff member of the facility. The victim, a correctional officer, reported to police that she was escorting the accused back to her cell when she became combative and refused commands. During the altercation, the accused pushed and attempted to strike the officer. The accused was eventually detained without further incident. Following the investigation, the accused was charged.

Charged with assault & battery on a corrections officer
Court date: June 2, 2014 | Bond: held WITHOUT bond

042114 woodReckless Handling of a Firearm – On April 19th at 9:26PM, officers responded to the 19200 block of Fuller Heights Rd in Triangle (22172) to investigate a shots fired call. Multiple callers reported to police that several gunshots were heard in the parking lot of the Quantico Terrace Apartments. Officers arrived in the area and located shell casings in the parking lot. A witness reportedly saw the suspect flee in a vehicle. An officer located the vehicle traveling on northbound I-95 where the driver, identified as the accused, was subsequently stopped and detained. The investigation revealed that the accused was involved in an altercation with a known acquaintance at the apartment complex. The encounter escalated and, at one point, the accused pulled out a handgun and fired multiple rounds. No injuries or property damage were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. At the time of the arrest, the accused was found to be in possession of cocaine.

Brian Franklin WOOD, 31, of 3604 Quantico Terrace Dr #27 in Triangle
Charged with reckless handling of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm with a controlled substance, and possession with intent to distribute a schedule I or II narcotic
