David Mann Dies After Struck by Car

A man died Thursday after he was hit by a car Saturday night.

The victim was a pedestrian and the driver of the striking car stayed on the scene.

Prince William police posted more information in this unedited report:

Crash – Fatality – On March 29th at 8:16PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Minnieville Rd and Darbydale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian. The investigation revealed that a driver, and only occupant, of a 2009 Nissan Murano was traveling eastbound on Minnieville Rd through the intersection in the area above when the vehicle crossed paths with a pedestrian who was attempting to cross Minnieville Rd. The driver remained at the scene.

The pedestrian was flown to area hospital where he died on April 3rd. Speed, alcohol and drug use are not factors in this investigation. Investigators are continuing to investigate which party had the right of way at the time of the collision. At this time no charges have been placed.

The pedestrian was identified as David Fitzhugh MANN III, 27, of Woodbridge

The driver of the 2009 Nissan Murano was identified as a 57 year old woman of Alexandria
