Local school systems

Prince William County

— On Tuesday, March 4, 2014, all Prince William County Public Schools will be closed due to inclement weather in certain areas. Code Red for employees. All school division activities including Professional Development sessions are cancelled. SACC will not open.

Stafford County

— All Stafford County Schools are closed on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. Employees are Code One.

All schools and offices are closed. No employees shall report to work today.

Manassas

–All Manassas City Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, March 4, 2014 due to hazardous road and sidewalk conditions. Code Blue for employees. There will be no after school activities. The School Board Budget Work Session scheduled for Tuesday at 6 pm will continue as planned.

Manassas Park

— All Manassas Park City Schools will be closed on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 due to inclement weather.  

Code Red for Employees.  The School Board work session will still be held at 7 pm on Tuesday.

Quantico

— DODEA schools aboard the base will be closed Tuesday, March 4.

Colleges and universities

George Mason University administrative offices will open at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014. Classes beginning at 12:00 p.m. or after will be held as scheduled. Mason shuttles will begin operating at 10:30 a.m. University events may be postponed or cancelled. Please check with the event coordinator or event website for more information.

Mary Washington  University: On Tuesday, March 4, the University will be closed on the Fredericksburg, Stafford and Dahlgren campuses with the exception of evening classes on the Stafford campus. Evening classes on the Stafford campus will be held as scheduled.

Germanna Community College: Due to inclement weather all Germanna locations will be closed Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

Military installations 

Quantico Marine Corps Base: MCB Quantico will be in operating status code blue for March 4th and open at 10 a.m. Reasonable delays and unscheduled leave may be authorized. Emergency/essential personnel are required to report.

Federal Government

ederal agencies in the Washington, DC, area are OPEN under 2 hours DELAYED ARRIVAL and employees have the OPTION FOR UNSCHEDULED LEAVE OR UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK. Employees should plan to arrive for work no more than 2 hours later than they would be expected to arrive.

Local government

Prince William County

Prince William County Government will be open with unscheduled leave policy in effect on Tuesday, March 4. All County government offices will be open, but employees may take unscheduled leave until weather permits safe travel to work.

Senior Centers are closed Tuesday, March 4.

Adult Day Healthcare will have a 2-hour delayed opening (open at 9 a.m.) Tuesday, March 4.

Stafford County 

Stafford County offices and facilities will open on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, with liberal leave in effect for employees.

All landfill operations will open at 8 a.m.

Woodlands Pool will open mid-morning. Patrons are asked to call the pool for further information.

Circuit Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court will delay opening by two hours, starting at 10 a.m. General District Court is opening on time at 8:00 a.m.

Schools are closed with a Code 1 for employees.
