More in an unedited police press release:

Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] | Eluding – On February 9th at 8:29PM, a Prince William County police officer observed a vehicle operating in a reckless manner while patrolling in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Allen Dent Rd in Dumfries (22026). When police attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver, later identified as the accused, took evasive action crossing multiple lanes of traffic on Jefferson Davis Hwy. The driver of the vehicle continued into the Princeton Woods development where he exited the vehicle and fled on foot in the area Periscope Pl. Police pursued the accused on foot and caught up to him not far from where he exited the vehicle. When officers attempted to detain the accused, he struck one of the officers in the face with his elbow. The accused was able to break away and escape into a nearby wooded area. A police K-9 officer responded and tracked the accused to a residence located in the 3300 block of Vineland Pl in Woodbridge (22026). Police searched the residence and located the accused hiding in a closet where he was arrested without further incident. The officer was treated at an area hospital for a non-life threatening injury.

David Kapay KALLO, 23, of 3346 Vineland Pl in Dumfries

Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, eluding, resisting arrest and driving while suspended
