Teen gets 28 years in Mt. Vernon area murder
A 16-year-old arrested last year in Woodbridge was sentenced to 28 –years in the beating death of another teenager. Prosecutors said Mario Reyes, who is now 17, took a baseball bat to Woodlawn Park in Mount Vernon and used it to beat the 16-year-old victim – another gang member – to death, The Washington Post reports.

Planning Commission votes no growth for Brooke
To build or not to build in Brooke remains one of the most hotly contested issues in Stafford County right now. Stafford County’s planning commission voted last week to strike a plan to build new homes, businesses and new transit options near the Brooke Virginia Railway Express station. Two of the five commissioners say not making a plan for develop Brooke would be a mistake, Fredericksburg.com reports.

A new tenant for Quantico Corporate Center
