Cop bitten, man charged with malicious wounding of a law enforcement officer

From Prince Willaim police: 

Malicious Wounding of a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On March 4 at 11:30PM, an officer responded to Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center located at 2300 Opitz Blvd in Woodbridge (22191) to transport the accused to an area facility for a mental health evaluation. While being placed in the backseat of a police cruiser, the accused became agitated and bit an officer in the hand. The accused was eventually secured without further incident. Serious injuries were reported to the officer’s hand. Following the investigation, the accused was charged and subsequently arrested on March 31.

Counselor tips police to sex assault in 2010

From Prince William police: 

Sexual Assault Investigation – On January 12, detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence in Haymarket (20169) sometime in 2010. The investigation revealed that the victim, then a 10-year-old female juvenile, was inappropriately touched by the accused, identified as a family member. The victim recently disclosed the incident to a counselor who contacted police. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested on April 1 without incident.

Brian David LUTTRELL, 48, of the 2714 Burrland Ln in The Plains

Charged with 2 counts of aggravated sexual battery and 1 count of indecent liberties with a minor

Twelve grams of heroin seized during traffic stop

From Stafford County Sheriff’s Office:

On March 28, 2017, at  1:22 p.m., Deputy J.R. Scott was traveling southbound on Interstate 95 when he observed a gray Toyota Tundra maneuvering quickly between three lanes of heavy traffic. The driver of the Toyota was traveling at a high rate of speed and neglected to use his turn signal while changing lanes.

Deputy Scott initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Stephen Carter. Mr. Carter was extremely anxious and visibly shaking as Deputy Scott began to ask him about his driving behavior. Based upon this suspicious behavior Deputy Scott requested assistance from Deputy S.T. Myers and his K-9 partner, “Khaos”. K-9 “Khaos” positively alerted on the vehicle for the presence of narcotics. Argument results in two arrests for weapons and drugs

From Stafford County Sheriff’s Office:

On March 25, 2017, at approximately 8:20 p.m., patrol deputies responded to an assault in-progress outside a residence on Cynthia’s Place. While en route, patrol units were informed that a male was assaulting a female in the parking lot and had pointed a handgun at her head.

Two charged with fraudulently purchasing U.T.V.

From Stafford County Sheriff’s Office:

On March 23, 2017, at 11:45 a.m., Fredericksburg Motor Sports alerted the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office of a female who was attempting to purchase a UTV (Utility Task Vehicle) while using another person’s identity. Detective Ed McCullough and Detective Robert Firkin were assigned to the investigation.

Verbal altercation results in attempted malicious wounding with axe

From Prince William County Police:

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On March 23 at 5:12 p.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 8700 block of Yorkshire Lane in Manassas to investigate a domestic incident.

The investigation revealed that the victim, a 65-year-old man of Manassas, and the accused, a family member, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed a small axe and attempted to strike the victim. (more…)

Bank robbery suspects arrested, connection to additional robberies under investigation

From Prince William County Police:

Attempted Bank Robbery ARREST – Upon further investigation into the reported attempted bank robbery which occurred at the BB&T Bank located at 13920 Noblewood Plz in Woodbridge on March 22, detectives have charged the driver of the suspect vehicle involved, identified as James Robert MOTON.

The passenger in the same vehicle, identified as William Howard ROBINSON, was also arrested on an unrelated charge. The investigation continues into this incident and possible connections to other additional robberies in Prince William County. Additional charges are pending. (more…)

Man previously sought for aggravated sexual battery arrested

Aggravated Sexual Battery *ARREST – On March 21, Eduyn Misael BELTRAN-ROMERO turned himself into police without incident at the Adult Detention Center in Manassas. The accused was wanted for a sexual assault which occurred at a residence in Dumfries in July of 2016.

Drug Store employee arrested for embezzlement

From Stafford County Sheriff’s Office:

On March 21, 2017, at 7:09 p.m., Deputy C.N. Mireles responded to a larceny at the Rite Aid located at 1095 International Parkway. When he arrived he met the loss prevention officer who advised a store employee, Tyra Powell, had been making suspicious returns of store merchandise. The loss prevention officer stated Ms. Powell would ring up a cash sale and if the customer failed to take the receipt, would use it to fictitiously return the item and pocket the cash. These returns had occurred as many as nine times on eight different days in March. (more…)

Man arrested for attempted malicious wounding of two Stafford Deputies

On March 20, 2017, at 11:54 p.m., Deputy W.C. Betush was stopped in the parking lot of 1739 Jefferson Davis Highway when a Honda CRV pulled into the lot and parked approximately 10 feet away from his marked cruiser. Deputy Betush felt that the subject was possibly in need of assistance and he exited his cruiser in order to speak with the driver. (more…)

Traffic accident leads to muliple charges

From Stafford County Sheriff’s Office:

On March 19, 2017, at 1:24 a.m. Deputy M. R. Flick responded to a reported hit and run in the area of 2862 Jefferson Davis Highway behind McDonald’s.

Upon arrival, Deputy Flick observed a silver Nissan situated on top of a median. He also observed uprooted shrubs and a broken McDonald’s entrance sign. There were two male subjects standing near the Nissan’s driver’s door. As he approached, one of the males walked away. (more…)

Mental health counselor charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor

From Prince William County Police Department:

Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor – On March 6, detectives from the Special Victims Unit began an investigation involving a juvenile and a counselor at the Psychological and Life Skills Associates located at 13885 Hedgewood Dr, Suite 245, in Woodbridge .

The investigation revealed that between January and March of 2017, the accused, identified as Matthew Stuart BROUDY, had an inappropriate relationship with a client, identified as a 17-year-old female juvenile. During the course of their relationship, the accused engaged in inappropriate contact with the victim on more than one occasion while at his above office in Woodbridge.

Detectives further learned that the accused continued to send the victim sexually explicit messages. On March 16, detectives executed a search warrant at BROUDY’s office and seized electronic items. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Mother charged with felony child neglect

Felony Child Neglect – On March 13 at 6:18 p.m., officers responded to the 12100 block of Cinnamon St in Woodbridge in reference to a found child. The caller reported to police that she located a young child walking around a parking lot unattended in the above area. Officers attempted to obtain information from the child regarding her residence and other identifiable information without success. (more…)

9-1-1 Call hang up results in concealed weapon arrest

Stafford, VA. On March 10, 2017, at 8:29 p.m., Deputy K.J. Simpson and Deputy S.P. Whitt responded to a 9-1-1 call from a residence on Poplar Road. The call had disconnected before deputies arrived on the scene. As is the routine practice, the deputies were outside interviewing the husband and wife about the circumstances that led to the call.

A short time later, an uninvolved male subject exited the residence and approached Deputy Simpson. As the male approached, he began using very explicit and abusive language toward law enforcement. (more…)

Driver arrested after Stafford sheriff’s volunteer spots expired tags, flat tire

From the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: 

On March 7, 2017, at approximately 12:40 PM, Sheriff’s Office Volunteer Mark Seymour was investigating an abandoned vehicle on Thomas Jefferson Place.  At the scene, he observed a white Volkswagen displaying expired Virginia tags and a flat tire.  While documenting the information, three males approached Mr. Seymour and asked him what he would be doing about the vehicle.  One of the males identified himself as the vehicle’s owner.

Deputy W.D. Betush responded to the scene and requested the male subject’s identification. The subject stated he did not have identification with him, but provided a name, date of birth and social security number.  The information provided did not return as valid.  When confronted with this information, the subject became increasingly agitated.  He was advised by Deputy Betush that he would be detained until his true identity was determined.  As Deputy Betush began to handcuff the subject, he broke free and fled on foot. NY man threatens to blow up Stafford business

Stafford, VA. On March 7, 2017, at  8:09 a.m., Deputy A.C. Wolford responded to a disturbance at the Sheetz at 10 Washington Square. Upon his arrival, he contacted the store manager who advised a male had purchased gas at the pump and then entered the establishment.

The male began talking with customers stating that he was going to blow up the store. The subject then purchased two containers of snuff and walked out the business. A few moments later he returned and asked the cashier to open the snuff cans. He left the store again, got into a silver Chrysler Pacifica, and left the parking lot. (more…)

Man, 26, arrested for dealing drugs via Uber

Abduction | Narcotics Investigation – On March 7 at 12:58 p.m., officers responded to the area of Minnieville Rd near Cardinal Dr in Woodbridge to investigate a possible ongoing abduction. A third party caller reported to police that her friend, a 26-year-old woman of Woodbridge, had picked up an unknown man in the above area with her Uber vehicle. (more…)
