Manassas police officer-involved shooting ‘justified,’ BB gun found

The investigation into the shooting of an 18-year-old man by a Manassas police officer is over. 

From a Prince William County police press release: 

“Upon reviewing the details of the shooting investigation involving the two Manassas City police officers, Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Paul Ebert, ruled the shooting was justified. Commonwealth Attorney Paul Ebert stated, “In my opinion, the officers involved were in reasonable fear of death or serious harm when they used lethal force and therefore their actions were justified.”

A Manassas City police officer pursued a car driven by 18-year-old Luis Daniel Torres Molina, of Woodbridge, from the city to George Helwig Memorial Park just off Route 234 and shot him early Friday. A 911 caller told Manassas police they heard shots fired, and then described seeing a black Ford Explorer with tinted windows.  (more…)

Suspect on Stafford’s ‘Most Wanted’ list apprehended

From Stafford County Sheriff’s Office:

On May 10, 2017, at 7:30 a.m., Deputy J.J. Kreider was westbound on South Gateway Drive when he observed a subject he recognized driving a green SAAB traveling east. Deputy Kreider knew the subject’s driving privilege was currently suspended due to multiple prior driving convictions.

Deputy Kreider reversed his direction of travel and followed the SAAB onto Falls Run Drive. He made contact with the driver, who was the single occupant of the vehicle, in the parking lot of 125 Falls Run.

The driver was also wanted for felony larceny and a failure to appear through Stafford County, as well as a capias from another jurisdiction. (more…)

Stafford woman, 52, charged with multiple traffic offenses

From Stafford County Sheriff’s Office:

On May 5, 2017, at 4:23 p.m., a citizen called to report a blue Ford pickup truck in the area of the Blue and Gray Parkway and Kings Highway that was swerving and drove into a ditch. Deputy D.W. Fetterolf responded and observed a vehicle, matching the description provided, stopped at a red light on Cool Springs Road waiting to make a left turn onto Butler Road.

The vehicle had no brake lights illuminated, and once on Butler Road, it swerved across the lane markings several times. Deputy Fetterolf activated his emergency lights and initiated a traffic stop, but the truck kept moving and continued west on Butler Road, stopping near the intersection of Castle Rock Drive. Family argument escalates, results in malicious wounding

Malicious Wounding | Stabbing Investigation– On May 1 at 2:30 a.m., officers responded to an apartment located in the 8100 block of Peakwood Ct in Manassas to investigate a stabbing.

The investigation revealed that the victim, a 34-year-old man of Manassas, was involved in a verbal altercation with the accused, identified as a family member, which escalated. During the encounter, the accused stabbed the victim multiple times with a knife. The parties eventually separated and the police were contacted. (more…)

Driving under the influence charge for Stafford man

From Stafford County Sheriff’s Office:

On April 27, 2017, at  11:50 p.m, Deputy E.M. Lawrence was on proactive patrol near the intersection of Stafford Lakes Parkway and Warrenton Road when she observed a Ford F-350 truck located perpendicular to the northbound travel lanes. Deputy Lawrence initiated a U-Turn to respond to the vehicle.

When she returned to the intersection the truck was parked in the southbound lanes of travel, again facing perpendicular to oncoming traffic. Deputy Lawrence activated her emergency equipment and made contact with the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Deputy Lawrence observed the driver’s glassy eyes, slurred speech and detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person. Deputy Lawrence also observed an open can of beer and a small bottle of whiskey inside the vehicle. (more…)

Woman, 31, charged with attempting to burn mattress

From Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue:

On, Sunday, April 30th , fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in the 3200 block of Burbank Lane in Dale City. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the fire had been extinguished by a resident.

The Prince William County Fire Marshal’s Office initiated an investigation. Through witness’ statements it was determined that Ms. Amanda Allen lit her mattress on fire while it was located inside a shed. The rest of the investigation led to the following charges being placed. (more…)

BB gun brandished on Hylton High School grounds

From Prince William police: 

Brandishing a Firearm – On April 27 at 8:44PM, officers responded to Hylton High School located at 14051 Spriggs Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a fight with a weapon. The investigation revealed that the victim, an 18-year-old male, and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused brandished a firearm which he had retrieved from his vehicle. The parties eventually separated and the police were contacted. Following the investigation, the accused was located and arrested without incident at his residence later that evening. Further investigation determined that the firearm was a BB gun.

Monterroso-Reyes charged with indecent liberties with a minor

From Prince William police: 

Sexual Assault Investigation – On April 10, detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence in Woodbridge (22191) sometime after January 2017. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 13-year-old female juvenile, was inappropriately touched by the accused, an acquaintance. The victim recently disclosed the incident to a family member who contacted police. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested on April 26 without incident.

Omar Anael MONTERROSO-REYES, 20, of 2926 Wythe Ct in Woodbridge

Charged with 1 count of indecent liberties with a minor, 2 counts of sexual battery, and 1 count of use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses

Members of a Manassas homeless community told fire investigators someone was burning their tents

From Prince William County Fire and Rescue Department press release: 

On April 21, the Fire Marshal’s Office received a complaint from a member of the Sudley Road/Lomond Drive homeless community indicating that people were vandalizing other members of the homeless community’s tents and personal belongings by means of fire. Investigators from the Prince William County Fire Marshal’s Office developed a suspect and obtained a warrant for SHAVONIA “Mi Mi” EAFFORD.

During the course of a witness interview, Fire Marshals determined that the same suspect also threatened the life of the witness by means of fire, and illegally burned the witness’ property.

Arrest warrants were obtained and executed by the Fire Marshal’s Office and members of Prince William County Police Department.

Arrested on April 28th:
SHAVONIA “Mi Mi” EAFFORD, 21 years old, no fixed address.

Charged with Class 4 Felony 18.2-52 attempted malicious bodily injury by means of any caustic substance or agent or use of any explosive or fire, Class 1 Misdemeanor 18.2-81 burning or destroying personal property, standing grain, etc. by fire.

SHAVONIA EAFFORD is being held on $3000 bond and is currently at the Prince William/Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center.

Woodbridge man, 18, charged with armed robbery

Armed Robbery *ARREST – On April 26, detectives from the Robbery Unit identified and arrested the suspect involved in the robbery which occurred in the area of Vantage Dr and John Diskin Cir in Woodbridge on April 25. The suspect, identified as Demetrious Jerome DONIGAN, was arrested without incident.

Arrest made long after lengthy car chase concludes

From Stafford County Sheriff’s Office:

On April 22, 2017, at  11:17 p.m, Deputy C. N. Mireles was traveling southbound on Warrenton Road behind a light-colored sedan. As both vehicles approached the intersection at Sanford Drive, Deputy Mireles observed the sedan travel through a red traffic light. Deputy Mireles activated his emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop.

The driver of the sedan continued onto the southbound ramp of Interstate 95, eluding the deputy. Deputy A.S. Smith joined Deputy Mireles as they kept pace with the vehicle. The sedan cut off several lanes of traffic as it maneuvered to exit 133-B from the center lane, and exited onto Carl D. Silver Parkway. Once in Central Park, the driver slowed the vehicle to make a U-Turn. At that time the suspect’s face was clearly illuminated by Deputy Mireles’ spotlight. (more…)

Arizala charged with abduction at Manassas area apartment

From Prince William police: 

Abduction | Domestic Assault & Battery – On April 25 at 3:39AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 8100 block of Porter Ridge Ln in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 20-year-old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim and prevented her from leaving the residence. At one point, the accused picked the victim up and carried her back into the residence. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Joshua Anthony ARIZALA, was arrested without further incident.

Police search for Randall after social media fight

From Prince William police: 

Malicious Wounding – On April 22 at 12:22AM, officers began an investigation into an assault which reportedly occurred in the 8100 block of Seymour Rd in Manassas (20109) on April 19 at approximately 12:00PM. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 24-year-old woman of Manassas, was involved in a dispute with an acquaintance over social media.

The parties eventually met in person in the above area. During the encounter, the argument escalated physically and the victim, who has limited mobility, was struck repeatedly by the accused. Other individuals were present during the incident and did not intervene in the altercation. The incident was recorded and posted online.

Officers were able to review the video and confirm the assault. As a result of the assault, the victim sustained injuries to her face. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused, identified as Tenisha Star RANDALL. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

Ausberry charged with aggravated malicious wounding after shooting

From Prince William police: 

Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On April 21 at 9:53PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 11100 block of Privates Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived at the home, they located the victim, a 27-year-old man of Manassas, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.

First responding officers provided aid to the victim who was flown to an area hospital for treatment. Initially, officers believed the suspect was still inside the residence which prompted the response of the Department’s tactical team. Officers later determined that the suspect had actually left the area in a vehicle.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Bureau were able to determine both parties were family members and that the incident was domestic in nature. The suspect, identified as Ronald Aaron AUSBERRY II, eventually turned himself into police without incident earlier this morning.

Woodbridge teller refuses to hand over cash during attempted robbery

From Prince William police: 

Attempted Bank Robbery – On April 19 at 4:44PM, officers responded to the Wells Fargo Bank located at 13891 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown woman approached the bank area then passed a note demanding money.

When the teller refused, the suspect fled the bank. No injuries were reported. During the investigation, detectives with the Robbery Unit identified the suspect as Amanda Renee SEGURA. The accused was located and detained without incident a short time later at a hotel in Dumfries. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Escobar charged with forcible sodomy

From Prince William police: 

Sexual Assault Investigation – On April 16 at 9:30AM, detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 15600 block of Renton Ct in Dumfries (22025) earlier that morning. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 21-year-old woman of Manassas, was sexually assaulted by the accused, an acquaintance. After the assault, the victim contacted a family member who responded to the residence. During the encounter, the family member was involved in a physical altercation with the accused and the police were contacted. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Henry Antonio MARQUEZ- ESCOBAR, 42, of 15600 block of Renton Ct in Woodbridge

Charged with forcible sodomy

Manassas police arrest after homicide, search for more suspects

MANASSAS, Va. — One person is custody in connection with the shooting death of 25-year-old Wilfredo Guardado-Huezo in Manassas.

The suspect, 20-year-old Denis Alexander Sanchez was arrested late Monday night. They did not say where the suspect was arrested.

Homicide: Update and Arrest On Monday, April 17, 2017 at approximately 1:10 a.m. Manassas City Police responded to the 9000 block of Centreville Rd for a report of shots fired. Officers located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The adult male would later be identified as Wilfredo GUARDADO-HUEZO, a 25-year-old resident of Manassas. GUARDADO-HUEZO sustained several gunshot wounds and died at an area hospital as a result of his injuries. GUARDADO-HUEZO’s death has been ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiners’ office and Manassas City Police continues to investigate. (more…)
