Police response to medical emergency leads to arrests

Stafford Deputies responded to a report of an unknown medical emergency to the rear of 620 Cambridge Street on August 4, 2017, at 8:08 p.m. Upon arrival, they located two individuals unresponsive, one on the ground by the driver’s side door of a Ford pickup truck and the other laying behind the vehicle.

One of the deputies noticed a white powdery substance spread across the center console of the truck which he believed to be heroin. Narcan was then administered to one of the subjects and he was immediately transported by rescue to Mary Washington Hospital. The second subject also regained consciousness and was transported to Mary Washington for evaluation. (more…)

‘The accused assaulted the victim and grabbed her by the neck’

From Prince William County police:

Strangulation | Brandishing a Firearm – On August 2 at 3:05 p.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 7000 block of Lakota Drive in Woodbridge to investigate an assault involving weapons. The investigation revealed the victim, a 31-year-old woman, and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated physically.

During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, grabbed her by the neck. The victim was eventually able to separate from the accused. The accused then retrieved a firearm and pointed it towards the victim. The accused also broke property inside the home including the victim’s cell phone.

When the accused left the home briefly, the victim was able to lock the door and contact police. Officers arrived and detained the accused without further incident. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Cristian Alexander PLEITEZ-CORTEZ, was arrested. (more…)

Manassas man arrested after investigation of aggravated sexual battery

From Prince William County police:

Aggravated Sexual Battery – On August 1, detectives from the Special Victims Bureau, in conjunction with Child Protective Services, began an investigation into an assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in Manassas in December of 2016.

The investigation revealed the victim, an 11-year-old girl, was sexually assaulted by the accused, a family member, while she was sleeping. The incident was recently disclosed which prompted the investigation. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Eliu TOBAR ESCOBAR, was arrested.

Update: Alexandria man sought on charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer

From Prince William County police:

The citizen asked the suspect for identification and the name of his supervisor. The suspect then immediately went back to his vehicle and left the area. – On July 31 at 6:41 a.m., officers responded to investigate a suspicious vehicle which was reported in the area of Williamson Boulevard and Duneiden Lane in Manassas. The investigation revealed a citizen was stopped at the traffic light on Sudley Road at Williamson Boulevard, attempting to make a left turn.

A driver of a blue, 2007 Ford Crown Victoria was also stopped at the same signal in an adjacent lane next to the citizen. When the vehicles made the left turn onto Williamson Blvd, the suspect vehicle got behind the citizen’s car and activated red and blue flashing lights which were mounted in the grill and visor area. Shots fired into car in Haymarket

From Prince William police: 

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Reckless Handling of a FirearmOn July 28 at 7:08PM, officers responded to the area of Market Ridge Blvd and Muir Dr in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed the victim, a 27-year-old man, was involved in an altercation with the accused, a male acquaintance, in front of a residence on Bryson Cir. The parties separated and the accused retrieved a handgun from the home. The accused then exited the home and stood in front of the victim’s vehicle. At one point, the accused fired multiple rounds, striking the vehicle. The victim fled the area and parked at a nearby business where he called police. Officers located the vehicle unoccupied. A friend of the victim was eventually contacted and confirmed he was not injured. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Michael Donovan WINE, was arrested.

Four accused of holding down man in his room, robbing him

From Prince William police: 

Strong Armed Robbery On July 26 at 9:30PM, officers were conducting routine foot patrol in the area of the Days Inn located at 249 New Market Ct in Manassas (20109) when they were flagged down regarding a robbery. The victim, a 36-year-old man, reported to police that he was held down in his room and robbed by four acquaintances. The suspects took the victim’s money. The victim left the room after the altercation and then went to the front desk where he encountered officers. The suspects were located in the room where they were detained without incident. The victim was not injured. Following the investigation, all four suspects were arrested.

Diane Marie GISIN, 49, of no fixed address

Brewer faces charges after man shot during narcotics buy

From Prince William police: 

Aggravated Malicious Wounding *ARRESTOn July 28, officers located the suspect, identified as the accused, who was involved in the shooting which occurred in the 3500 block of Powells Crossing Ct in Woodbridge on July 27. Police received an anonymous tip, which ultimately led officers to the area of Bayside Dr where members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force attempted an arrest. The accused fled on foot and was taken into custody following a brief chase. The investigation into the shooting revealed the accused met the victim to conduct a narcotics transaction. During the transaction, the accused took a firearm belonging to the victim and, when the victim intervened, he was shot in the upper body. After the altercation, the accused fled the area. At the time of the incident, three children of the accused, ages 3, 6, and 7, were inside the vehicle. The children were not injured during the altercation. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Susann Michelle BREWER, was arrested. The children were located with the accused during her arrest and were subsequently released to the custody of Child Protective Services. Additional charges are pending.

Malicious Wounding [Previously Released] On July 27 at 2:29AM, officers responded to the 3500 block of Powells Crossing Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they located the victim, a 35-year-old man of Woodbridge, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The investigation revealed that the incident took place outside of a residence during a drug transaction. The victim was speaking to multiple occupants of a vehicle when he was shot by one of the individuals inside. The suspects immediately fled the scene. An uninvolved party heard the gunshot and contacted police. The victim is expected to survive. This incident was not random. The investigation continues.

Bristow man, 26, charged with assault & battery on a law enforcement officer

From Prince William County police:

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On July 24 at 8:20 p.m., officers responded to the 7600 block of Aaron Lane in Manassas to investigate a large fight possibly involving weapons. Officers arrived on scene and located a large group in the Barron Park pavilion area.

During the encounter, an odor of marijuana was detected and the group was detained. While investigating, one of the individuals, later identified as the accused, fled on foot. An officer attempted to stop the accused, at which point, he pushed down on the officer. Officers gave chase and were able to take accused in custody.

During the chase, the accused disposed of suspected marijuana and prescription medication. The accused was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The officer was not injured. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Sheldon O’Neil TAPSCOTT, was arrested. (more…)

Strangulation | Domestic Related – On July 25 at 10:33 p.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 3200 block of Berlin Court in Woodbridge to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 19-year old woman, reported to police that she and the accused, a family member, were involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated physically.

During the encounter, the accused allegedly put the victim in a chokehold. Once released, the victim fell to the ground. The parties eventually separated and the accused left the home. Following the investigation, officers obtained a warrant for the arrest of the accused, identified as Tony Edward BEST. The warrant on accused was served on July 26. (more…)

Man suspected of domestic related abduction arrested

Michael Kelly Puckett, previously sought for abduction and domestic assault and battery has been located and arrested by police, thanks to an anonymous tip.

Abduction | Domestic Related *ARREST – On July 25, officers located the accused, Michael Kelly PUCKETT, who was wanted in connection to a domestic altercation which occurred at a residence located in the 10400 block of Lonesome Road in Nokesville on July 23. Police received an anonymous tip, which ultimately led officers to his location where he was arrested without incident.

Manassas man charged with indecent exposure, public intoxication

From Prince William police:

Indecent Exposure – On July 23 at 5:20 a.m., an officer was patrolling in the area of Rolling Road and Sudley Road in Manassas when a male exposed himself to the officer and made an obscene gesture. When the officer approached the man, it was determined that he was intoxicated. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

McCroskey charged with production of child pornography

From Prince William police: 

Production of Child Pornography – On July 19, detectives with the Special Victims Bureau concluded an investigation into the production of child pornography with the execution of a search warrant at a residence located at 13243 Kurtz Rd in Woodbridge (22913). During the search warrant, evidence supporting the charges was seized. Detectives began the investigation after information was received that the accused, identified as Jason Lee MCCROSKEY, had exchanged illicit photographs with a 14-year-old male juvenile of New York between June and October of 2016. Following the investigation, the accused was located and arrested without incident. The investigation continues.

Verbal altercation results in two counts of malicious wounding

From Prince William County police:

Malicious Wounding – On July 18 at 12:38 a.m., officers responded to the 13800 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge to investigate a fight. The victim, a 29-year-old man of Fayetteville NC, reported to police that he and the accused were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated physically.

During the encounter, the accused struck the victim multiple times in the face. A second victim, a 59-year-old man of Fayetteville NC, attempted to separate the two parties. At that point, the accused pulled out a knife and began swinging the weapon towards the second victim. (more…)

Suspect in felony child neglect eludes police

A woman, previously arrested for attempting to burn a mattress, is wanted by police for suspected felony child neglect.

Felony Child Neglect – On July 15 at 12:24 p.m., officers responded to the 3500 block of Briarwood Drive in Dumfries to investigate a child neglect. When officers arrived, they located a 2-year-old boy and an 11-month old girl unattended outside of their apartment. Upon further investigation, officers located the children’s residence where the babysitter, later identified as the accused, was found asleep inside. (more…)

Police seek Mays in suspected abduction case

From Prince William County police:

Abduction | Domestic Related – On July 17 at 12:37 a.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 2900 block of Wetherburn Court in Woodbridge to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed that the accused was involved in a verbal argument with an acquaintance, identified as a 31-year-old woman of Woodbridge, which escalated.

During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and prevented her from leaving the residence. When the victim locked herself in the bathroom and contacted police, the accused kicked open the door and put the victim in a headlock. A struggle ensued and the victim was eventually able to break free. When the officer arrived, the accused fled the area on foot. Minor injuries were reported. (more…)

Horseback riding instructor indicted for sexual battery

From Stafford County Sheriff’s Office:

The Stafford Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of Boris Gokovski, age 64 of Stafford County. Gokovski was indicted by a Stafford County Grand Jury on July 5, 2017 on four counts of Sexual Battery. He was arrested on those indictments on July 12, 2017 and incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 secure bond. Gokovski has since bonded out. He is scheduled for arraignment on July 20, 2017.

The indictments against Gokovski stem from a complaint the Sheriff’s Office received in May of 2017 from a female victim who reported that Gokovski sexually assaulted her at the B&R Ranch located in Stafford County. Gokovski is one of the owners of the B&R Ranch as well as a horseback riding instructor. (more…)

Triangle man, 46, charged with aggravated sexual battery

From Prince William County police:

Aggravated Sexual Battery – On July 13 at 11:15 p.m., detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which reportedly occurred at a residence located in the 3600 block of Wharf Lane in Triangle earlier that morning. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 15-year-old female juvenile, was inappropriately touched by the accused, an acquaintance, earlier that morning around 8:00 a.m. Following the investigation, the accused, was arrested without incident.

Warrenton man charged with attempted murder, says men sexually assaulted friend

While police are charged the suspect with attempted murder, they’re still looking into the alleged sexual assualt. 

From a press release: 

Attempted Murder – On July 10 at 10:26PM, officers received information that the accused, identified as Alec Michael SHRAUDER, was possibly driving to a residence located in the 15600 block of Crestview Ln in Haymarket (20169) with a firearm to confront two men who allegedly sexually assaulted a female acquaintance sometime between July 7 and July 9.

Officers responded to the residence while a police K-9 and helicopter searched the area for the suspect. Following an extensive search of the surrounding area, the accused was eventually taken into custody without incident on July 11 around 1:30AM and subsequently charged. A firearm was also recovered nearby. The investigation into the alleged sexual assault is still on going.

Two face charges in BB gun shootings

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — Prince William police say they arrested two men suspected in two BB gun shootings on Tuesday in the county. 

One occurred in Dale City, and the second at a Taco Bell at the corner of Sudley Road and Sudley Manor Drive near Manassas.

Malicious Wounding | BB Gun Shooting Investigations – On July 11 at 12:45PM, officers responded to the area of Darbydale Ave and Danville Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting involving a BB gun. The investigation revealed that three adult males were struck by BB pellets as they were working in the above area. One victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The two other victims received minor injuries.

Later that afternoon around 3:10PM, officers responded to the area of Sudley Manor Rd and Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a second shooting involving a BB gun. The second investigation revealed that an adult male reported to police that he was walking in the above area when he was struck by a BB pellet in the upper body. The victim reported minor injuries.
