Police arrest man, 22, in connection with stabbing investigation

From Prince William County police:

Stabbing Investigation – On October 17 at 12:33a.m., officers responded to a hotel located in the 17100 block of Dumfries Rd in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a stabbing. The investigation revealed that the victims, a 21-year-old man and a 24-year-old man both of Midland, and two other male acquaintances were involved in a verbal altercation at the hotel, which escalated.

During the encounter, the accused stabbed both of the victims in the upper body with a knife. The parties eventually separated and police were contacted. When officers arrived, they detained the accused without incident. The victims were transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Heroin overdose leads to arrest of Stafford man, 40

From Stafford County Sheriff’s Office:

Stafford, VA. A man who lost consciousness after overdosing on heroin was arrested on Sunday by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. On October 15, 2017 at approximately 1:04 p.m., Stafford deputies responded to a call in the area of Ivywood Drive and Glenwood Avenue. They discovered an unresponsive man in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with its hazard lights on positioned to the side of the road at the intersection.

Deputies suspected an opiate overdose and were able to revive the man using nasal Narcan. They discovered a substance consistent with heroin and needles in the vehicle. Eric Scott Ashby, 40, was treated at Stafford Hospital and subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance. He was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2500 secured bond.

Suspect arrested in connection with shooting in Garfield Station

Shooting Investigation *ARREST – On October 16, Randy Lamont JACKSON, turned himself into police without incident at the Gar-Field Station in Woodbridge. The accused was wanted for shooting which occurred in the area of Dale Blvd and Kerrydale Rd in Woodbridge on October 14.

Manassas man, 18, arrested on four counts of malicious wounding

From Prince William County police:

Malicious Wounding – On October 14 at 12:12 a.m, officers responded to a residence located in the 13000 block of Dane Valley Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a fight. The investigation revealed that the victim, 19-year-old man of Woodbridge, was involved in a verbal altercation with the accused, an acquaintance, which escalated. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim to the ground and kicked him in the mouth damaging several of the victim’s teeth.

The accused fled the area prior to officers arriving. On October 15 around 1:44 a.m., officers responded to investigate another fight which occurred at a residence located in the 13800 block of Holly Forest Dr in Manassas (20112). The investigation revealed that the accused arrived at another party where he was involved in a verbal altercation with a 19-year-old male and 17-year-old male. A fight broke out and the accused assaulted the victims with a crow bar and brass knuckles. (more…)

Three suspects arrested in attempted armed robbery

From Prince William County police:

Attempted Armed Robbery – On October 11 at 3:14 p.m., officers responded to the area of Forestdale Ave and Beaumont Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a fight. The victim, a 33-year-old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that an acquaintance displayed a handgun and demanded the keys to his vehicle.

The victim attempted to get back into his vehicle when two additional males approached him and assaulted him. Officers arrived and were able to detain the suspects. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the suspects were arrested. A handgun was recovered. (more…)

Verbal altercation while driving leads to abduction charge for man, 32

From Prince William County police:

Abduction | Domestic Related – On October 10 at 2:00 a.m., officers responded to the 3800 block of Koval Ln in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a possible abduction. The caller reported to police that she was on the phone with a family member, identified as a 44-year-old woman, who stated that the accused, an acquaintance, would not let her get out of a vehicle they were traveling in.

Officers were eventually able to locate the vehicle a short time later in the area of Hillendale Dr and Prince William Pkwy and detained the accused. The investigation revealed that the victim and the accused were involved in a verbal altercation while driving in the Woodbridge area. (more…)

Stafford traffic stop leads to arrest of wanted man

From Stafford County Sheriff’s Office:

Stafford, VA. A traffic stop initiated on Friday by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of a man wanted in Spotsylvania County on felony larceny charges.

On October 6, 2017 at approximately 7:11 p.m., a Stafford deputy observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Route 1 with no operating tail lights. The deputy activated his emergency lights and then “chirped” the siren several times after the vehicle failed to pull over.

The vehicle pulled over on State Shop Road and the driver, a male, opened his door. The deputy instructed him to remain inside, turn off his vehicle and put both hands on the steering wheel. The driver put his hands on the steering wheel but did not turn off the car and abruptly sped off. (more…)

Carjacking | Malicious Wounding *SUSPECTS IDENTIFIED AND ARRESTED – During the course of the investigation, detectives with the Robbery Unit identified and obtained warrants for the arrest of four suspects involved in a carjacking which was reported to have occurred at an unknown location on Georgetown Rd in Woodbridge on September 20.

Strangulation | Domestic Related *ARREST – On September 26, Jameur Ryan SMITH turned himself into police without incident at the Western District Station in Manassas. The accused was wanted for a domestic which occurred at a residence located in the 8800 block of Middleburg Ct in Manassas on August 23.

Charges ensue when allegedly intoxicated suspect spits on police officer

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On September 21 at 1:35 a.m., officers responded to Brittany’s Restaurant located at 12449 Dillingham Sq in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate several suspicious individuals. When officers arrived, they made contact with several intoxicated suspects and subsequently arrested them.

As an officer was attempting to process one of the suspects at the Adult Detention Center, the accused spit on the officer. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Kareem Tamara TAYLOR, was arrested without further incident. (more…)

Police investigate multiple shootings

From Prince William County police:

Shooting Investigation – On September 19 at 12:00AM, officers responded to the 3100 block of River Heritage Blvd in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shooting. The initial investigation revealed that the victim, a 19-year-old man of Dumfries, was walking in a wooded area near the above location when he was approached by several males. During the encounter, one of the males brandished a firearm and fired at the victim, missing him. The victim was able to flee the area and contact police a short time later. After the shooting, the suspects fled the area. No injuries or property damage were reported.  At this point, this incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle – On September 18 at 4:01PM, officers responded to the area of Belvedere Dr and Benton St in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. Several callers reported to police that multiple shots were heard in the above area. When officers arrived, they located several shell casings in the roadway. While searching the surrounding area, officers located a vehicle which had several bullet holes. Officers located the driver of the vehicle a short time later. The victim was uncooperative with officers during the investigation. No suspect description is available at this time. There were no injuries or other property reported damaged. The investigation continues.

Police response to medical emergency leads to arrests

Stafford Deputies responded to a report of an unknown medical emergency to the rear of 620 Cambridge Street on August 4, 2017, at 8:08 p.m. Upon arrival, they located two individuals unresponsive, one on the ground by the driver’s side door of a Ford pickup truck and the other laying behind the vehicle.

One of the deputies noticed a white powdery substance spread across the center console of the truck which he believed to be heroin. Narcan was then administered to one of the subjects and he was immediately transported by rescue to Mary Washington Hospital. The second subject also regained consciousness and was transported to Mary Washington for evaluation. (more…)

‘The accused assaulted the victim and grabbed her by the neck’

Strangulation | Brandishing a Firearm – On August 2 at 3:05 p.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 7000 block of Lakota Drive in Woodbridge to investigate an assault involving weapons. The investigation revealed the victim, a 31-year-old woman, and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated physically.

During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, grabbed her by the neck. The victim was eventually able to separate from the accused. The accused then retrieved a firearm and pointed it towards the victim. The accused also broke property inside the home including the victim’s cell phone.

When the accused left the home briefly, the victim was able to lock the door and contact police. Officers arrived and detained the accused without further incident. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Cristian Alexander PLEITEZ-CORTEZ, was arrested. (more…)

Manassas man arrested after investigation of aggravated sexual battery

Aggravated Sexual Battery – On August 1, detectives from the Special Victims Bureau, in conjunction with Child Protective Services, began an investigation into an assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in Manassas in December of 2016.

The investigation revealed the victim, an 11-year-old girl, was sexually assaulted by the accused, a family member, while she was sleeping. The incident was recently disclosed which prompted the investigation. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Eliu TOBAR ESCOBAR, was arrested.

Update: Alexandria man sought on charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer

From Prince William County police:

The citizen asked the suspect for identification and the name of his supervisor. The suspect then immediately went back to his vehicle and left the area. – On July 31 at 6:41 a.m., officers responded to investigate a suspicious vehicle which was reported in the area of Williamson Boulevard and Duneiden Lane in Manassas. The investigation revealed a citizen was stopped at the traffic light on Sudley Road at Williamson Boulevard, attempting to make a left turn.

A driver of a blue, 2007 Ford Crown Victoria was also stopped at the same signal in an adjacent lane next to the citizen. When the vehicles made the left turn onto Williamson Blvd, the suspect vehicle got behind the citizen’s car and activated red and blue flashing lights which were mounted in the grill and visor area. Shots fired into car in Haymarket

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Reckless Handling of a FirearmOn July 28 at 7:08PM, officers responded to the area of Market Ridge Blvd and Muir Dr in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed the victim, a 27-year-old man, was involved in an altercation with the accused, a male acquaintance, in front of a residence on Bryson Cir. The parties separated and the accused retrieved a handgun from the home. The accused then exited the home and stood in front of the victim’s vehicle. At one point, the accused fired multiple rounds, striking the vehicle. The victim fled the area and parked at a nearby business where he called police. Officers located the vehicle unoccupied. A friend of the victim was eventually contacted and confirmed he was not injured. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Michael Donovan WINE, was arrested.

Strong Armed Robbery On July 26 at 9:30PM, officers were conducting routine foot patrol in the area of the Days Inn located at 249 New Market Ct in Manassas (20109) when they were flagged down regarding a robbery. The victim, a 36-year-old man, reported to police that he was held down in his room and robbed by four acquaintances. The suspects took the victim’s money. The victim left the room after the altercation and then went to the front desk where he encountered officers. The suspects were located in the room where they were detained without incident. The victim was not injured. Following the investigation, all four suspects were arrested.

Brewer faces charges after man shot during narcotics buy

From Prince William police: 

Aggravated Malicious Wounding *ARRESTOn July 28, officers located the suspect, identified as the accused, who was involved in the shooting which occurred in the 3500 block of Powells Crossing Ct in Woodbridge on July 27. Police received an anonymous tip, which ultimately led officers to the area of Bayside Dr where members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force attempted an arrest. The accused fled on foot and was taken into custody following a brief chase. The investigation into the shooting revealed the accused met the victim to conduct a narcotics transaction. During the transaction, the accused took a firearm belonging to the victim and, when the victim intervened, he was shot in the upper body. After the altercation, the accused fled the area. At the time of the incident, three children of the accused, ages 3, 6, and 7, were inside the vehicle. The children were not injured during the altercation. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Susann Michelle BREWER, was arrested. The children were located with the accused during her arrest and were subsequently released to the custody of Child Protective Services. Additional charges are pending.

Malicious Wounding [Previously Released] On July 27 at 2:29AM, officers responded to the 3500 block of Powells Crossing Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they located the victim, a 35-year-old man of Woodbridge, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The investigation revealed that the incident took place outside of a residence during a drug transaction. The victim was speaking to multiple occupants of a vehicle when he was shot by one of the individuals inside. The suspects immediately fled the scene. An uninvolved party heard the gunshot and contacted police. The victim is expected to survive. This incident was not random. The investigation continues.

Bristow man, 26, charged with assault & battery on a law enforcement officer

From Prince William County police:

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On July 24 at 8:20 p.m., officers responded to the 7600 block of Aaron Lane in Manassas to investigate a large fight possibly involving weapons. Officers arrived on scene and located a large group in the Barron Park pavilion area.

During the encounter, an odor of marijuana was detected and the group was detained. While investigating, one of the individuals, later identified as the accused, fled on foot. An officer attempted to stop the accused, at which point, he pushed down on the officer. Officers gave chase and were able to take accused in custody.

During the chase, the accused disposed of suspected marijuana and prescription medication. The accused was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The officer was not injured. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Sheldon O’Neil TAPSCOTT, was arrested. (more…)

The victim, a 19-year old woman, reported to police that she and the accused, a family member, were involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated physically.

During the encounter, the accused allegedly put the victim in a chokehold. Once released, the victim fell to the ground. The parties eventually separated and the accused left the home. Following the investigation, officers obtained a warrant for the arrest of the accused, identified as Tony Edward BEST. The warrant on accused was served on July 26. (more…)

Man suspected of domestic related abduction arrested

Michael Kelly Puckett, previously sought for abduction and domestic assault and battery has been located and arrested by police, thanks to an anonymous tip.

Abduction | Domestic Related *ARREST – On July 25, officers located the accused, Michael Kelly PUCKETT, who was wanted in connection to a domestic altercation which occurred at a residence located in the 10400 block of Lonesome Road in Nokesville on July 23. Police received an anonymous tip, which ultimately led officers to his location where he was arrested without incident.
