I’m running for local office — Will you write a story about me?

Every year is an election year in Virginia, so we try to feature all candidates running for local office in our coverage area by asking them to complete our online Project: Election survey. Each candidate should receive a survey, the responses of which will be published to PotomacLocal.com shortly after they are received. If you are a candidate for a locally-elected office and have not received a Project: Election survey or feel you have received one in error, please get in touch with us at [email protected].

I’m running for local office — Do you write stories about campaign endorsements?

No. With so many candidates running for so many offices across our highly-populated region, it is difficult for us to keep track of each endorsement and provide equal endorsement coverage for all.

Do you accept display advertising?

Yes. Many of our display advertisements you see on Potomac Local News are integrated with social media, allowing our clients to show their latest social media updates to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in their display ads on Potomac Local. We also offer a wide range of new and traditional display advertising formats. More information on advertising can be found in our Media Kit.

Do you accept help-wanted ads?

Yes. Companies wishing to post a help wanted ad may do so by clicking here.

Do you accept legal ads?

Potomac Local News does not publish a “newspaper of general circulation,” so placing an ad on our website may not meet your legal ad requirement set forth by the state of Virginia. Knowing this, we have helped state agencies in the reach and effectiveness of a legal ad by publishing a Sponsored Post.

Do you accept obituaries?

The obituaries on Potomac Local News are featured on funeral home websites in Prince William County and Manassas. If you would like Potomac Local News to post an obituary that does not appear on a funeral home website in Prince William County, please email it to [email protected].

Do you charge community organizations for posting events to your site?

No. You may post events to Potomac Local News FREE by visiting our events page.

Will my posted event appear on your social media?

Your free event listing will appear on our website but will not appear on our social media pages.
