Burgess tied to Nokesville arson

Fire investigators in Prince William County arrested a suspect in an arson that occurred this summer in Nokesville. 

From Prince William fire and rescue spokeswoman Kim Hylander: 

On August 31, 2016, a barn fire occurred in the14300 block of Fauquier Drive in Nokesville, Virginia. An investigation conducted by the Prince William County Fire Marshal’s Office revealed the fire had been intentionally set resulting in the total loss to the structure and surrounding equipment. A suspect was developed through the investigation and an arrest was made.

James Dustin BURGESS, 19 years old, of 13412 Vint Hill Rd., Nokesville, VA

On December 14, Burgess was one of four people charged in a home invasion on Bristow Road. 

We’re working to get more information about the fire on August 31, and what connection — if any — it has to the home invasion.

A barn and farm equipment was torched in the August 31 arson incident, according to Asst. Chief Matt Smolsky, with Prince Wiliam fire and rescue.

The arson is unrelated to the home invasion in which Burgess is also charged.
