Dumfries 7-Eleven robbed at gunpoint

An 18-year old Woodbridge man is charged with robbery, malicious wounding, burglary while armed, and use of a firearm in commision of a felony. The second suspect has not been located.
 
According to police, the suspects robbed the 7-Eleven located on Jefferson Davis Highway near Dumfries by using a handgun to demand money. One of the suspects was struck on the head by an employee with a stick causing a large cut. The suspects fled on foot with an unknown amount of money, said the police. 

 
Prior to this incident the suspects were involved in an argument with an employee at the Valero service station located on Jefferson Davis Highway. According to police, the employee was punched in the face during the encounter.

Armed Robbery | Malicious Wounding – On April 27 at 6:42AM, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 16806 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a robbery.  Employees reported to police that two unknown men entered the store. During the encounter, one of the men brandished a handgun and demanded money. At some point, an employee struck one of the men, later identified as Leonel Alferdo GRANADOS-ZELAYA, on the head with a stick causing a large laceration. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot. No other injuries were reported. A police K-9 responded and located GRANADOS-ZELAYA who was detained without incident. The second suspect was not located. Further investigation revealed that the two suspects were involved in a verbal altercation a short time earlier with an employee of the Valero service station located at 17315 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries which escalated. During the encounter, the suspects punched the employee in the face. The suspects left the business prior to police arriving. Minor injuries were reported to the victim. GRANDADOS-ZELAYA was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. Following the investigation, GRANDADOS-ZELAYA was arrested. The investigation continues.

White male, between 15 & 20 years of age, 5’07”, 140lbs with a thin build and brown hair
Last seen wearing grey short, black shirt with white polka dots, and white shoes
