Motorcyclist killed near Haymarket

New information on a fatal crash near Haymarket Thursday night. 

Police identified the motorcyclist killed in the cash as 52-year-old Gregory Allen Wilson, of Haymarket.

?Fatal Crash Investigation – On March 24 at 5:29PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Antioch Rd near Waterfall Rd in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a crash involving a motorcycle. The investigation revealed that the operator of a 1997 Harley Davidson FXDL was traveling northbound on Antioch Rd in the above area at an excessive speed when for unknown reasons the motorcycle crossed over the double yellow line and collided with the driver of a 2009 Chevrolet Express van who was traveling in the southbound lane. The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were a factor. The investigation continues.

 The driver of the 2009 Chevrolet Express van was identified as a 54 year old man of Warrenton

A motorcyclist was killed in western Prince William County Thursday evening.

Fatal Crash Investigation – On March 24 at 5:29PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Antioch Rd near Waterfall Rd in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a crash involving a motorcycle. The investigation into the cause of the crash is still underway. The motorcycle operator, identified as an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, also an adult male, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Further information on the crash will be released when available. The identity of the motorcycle operator will also be released once a next of kin is notified. The investigation continues. 

This is the third fatal crash in Prince William County this week. Two SUV’s collided on West Longview Drive in Woodbridge killing one and injuring another. 

A road worker was struck and killed on Davis Ford Road Thursday afternoon.
