If you like free stuff you’ll want to go to a Potomac Nationals game this year

The Potomac Nationals this upcoming season will giveaway bobble head dolls, welcome a WWE star, celebrate Frank Costanza’s hilariously frightful “Festivus” holiday, and honor the films “Star Wars,” “Top Gun,” and “The Bad News Bears.”

Here’s the info you need to get the hookup, and your Admiral Ackbar jersey.

The 2016 season will symbolize the highest level of promotional entertainment hosted at The Pfitz in the history of the Potomac Baseball franchise.

The P-Nats will be giving away the following Saturday night collectable bobbleheads/figurines in 2016 at a count of 1,500 per giveaway date:

There will be beer steins and floppy hats:

And, fireworks for Independence Day, and every Saturday night home game.

Nationals fans will be treated to post-game fireworks blast-offs every Saturday night, select second-half Sunday evenings, and on Monday, July 4th, the P-Nats will host the best fireworks extravaganza of the 2016 season to celebrate Independence Day.

Someone from WWE will toss out a first pitch, but we don’t know who, yet.

To-be-announced celebrities will be on hand at The Pfitz to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, take pictures with fans, and sign autographs on Friday, July 8th presented by: Lindsay Automotive Group while a WWE legend will grace the ballpark on Friday, August 19th.

Do you celebrate Festivus?

The most popular theme night to attend in all of Minor League Baseball will take place at the Home of the Potomac Nationals on Saturday, July 23rd. In the spirit of anti-commercialism and all-inclusive holiday gatherings, “Halfway to Festivus,” a spin-off of a popular made-up holiday originating from one of the most syndicated television shows of all time, Seinfeld, will thoroughly entertain the P-Nats’ faithful.

The event will feature a Frank Costanza Festivus-themed bobblehead giveaway and a to-be-announced Seinfeld celebrity on hand to meet and greet fans and sign autographs. Meanwhile P-Nats players will be wearing on-field “Halfway to Festivus” parody jerseys that will be signed and auctioned on the stadium concourse to fans.

Festivus décor (or lack their of) will don The Pfitz and Festivus trivia will blanket the outfield jumbo-tron video board. Fans will be encouraged to visit the centerpiece of the evening, the “Festivus Pole,” participate in the “Airing of Grievances” on the ballpark concourse, and engage in the “Feats of Strength” on the field during the game. Free entrance will be granted to any fans with the last name, “Costanza.” More theatrics for “Halfway to Festivus” will be announced closer to the event.

There’s military prevarication night:

Military Appreciation Night, co-sponsored by First Command Financial Services and Little Caesars Woodbridge, Dale City, & Warrenton, a staple of the Potomac Baseball franchise, will honor the armed forces community in Northern Virginia on Sunday, July 24th. Military members from all over the region will enjoy a night of appreciation for their duty to the United States of America.

Then there are upcoming jersey nights:

Special game-used, on-field, autographed theme jersey auctions have been scheduled around Bad News Bears 40th Anniversary Night (Saturday, May 7th), Autism Awareness Day sponsored by: Lindsay Automotive Group (Sunday, May 29th). Superhero Night (Batman v. Superman jerseys on Saturday, June 11th), Star Wars Day (Admiral Ackbar jerseys on Sunday, June 19th), “Halfway to Festivus” Night sponsored by: Paxton Companies (Saturday, July 23rd), and Top Gun 30th Anniversary Night (Saturday, August 6th), to benefit non-profits. The designs for the unique, one-of-a-kind jerseys to be worn by Potomac Nationals players and coaches on the dates of these games are yet to be released.

Something for mom:

A Mother’s Day event on Sunday, May 8th will be a “thank you” to all Moms who follow the P-Nats. Mothers in attendance at the game will receive a flower while entering The Pfitz, have the chance to win nine innings of prizes through a raffle, receive in-game recognition on the public address system, and participate in a wine tasting and a post-game “diamond dig.”

And something for dad:

A sprawling Father’s Day celebration sponsored by: Virginia Department of Social Services: Putative Father Registry on Sunday, June 19th will treat all Dads in the crowd to mid-contest recognition on the PA microphone and much more including a Father’s Day Picnic buffet option.

Fathers in the stadium will have the opportunity to speak baseball with Potomac Nationals Field Manager, Tripp Keister and talk lawncare with P-Nats Head Groundskeeper, Justin Sadowski before the game in advance of receiving nine innings of prizes raffled off during the game while checking out “guy-targeted” products on the stadium concourse booths and bidding on Star Wars Day game used, autographed jerseys.
