Gas line relocation begins Monday in Manassas Park

Construction crews will begin relocating gas lines in Manassas Park on Monday.

The work will take place at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Manassas Drive, and is being done in advance of roadwork to occur in the area.

The work is expected to take place through February, and will occur at multiple locations around the intersection.

Here’s more in a press release:

Effective Monday January 18th,  Columbia Gas of Virginia will begin construction activities necessary to relocate underground natural gas facilities in and around the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Manassas Drive in Manassas Park. This work is being done in advance of the City of Manassas Park performing additional road work in the area. The construction activity will take place at multiple locations around the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Manassas Drive and the work is expected to last through February.

The construction work will require the periodic temporary closing of traffic lanes allowing for a safe work zone for all workers, the public and to allow construction vehicles safe access to the work sites. Drivers will see construction warning signs and temporary traffic control measures which will include traffic cones, drums, lights or flaggers.

As with any construction work site the safety of the workers is most important. Columbia Gas of Virginia asks for patience and reminds drivers in the work zone area to strictly follow the posted speed limits and pay attention for construction workers and vehicles. We want both, the construction work and drivers, to go home safe every day.
