Drug deal goes bad on F Street in Woodbridge

Two men are charged with two counts of armed robbery and aggravated malicious wounding during a drug transaction with the 31-year-old victim.

The victim’s friend was also wounded after intervening.

Here’s more in a police press release:

Armed Robbery | Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On December 21st at 6:00AM, officers responded to investigate an assault which occurred in the 1300 block of F St in Woodbridge (22191) on December 21st at 12:00AM. The victim, a 31 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he met two known acquaintances in the above area to purchase drugs. During the encounter, one of the men brandished a knife then took the victim’s wallet, money and cell phone before the parties separated.

The victim made contact with the suspects who agreed to meet the victim again to return his cell phone. During the second encounter, the victim grabbed his cell phone from the suspects and attempted to flee. The suspects eventually caught the victim and assaulted him. At that point, one of the suspects repeatedly punched the victim in the body as the other suspect cut the victim with a knife. When a friend of the victim attempted to intervene, he was cut in the face by one of the suspects then relieved of his cell phone.

The parties eventually separated and the victim responded to a local fire house where he was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries and police were contacted. The friend of the victim refused treatment. Detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify the suspects involved as Ryan SMITH and Tryevon DAVIS. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against both of the accused. SMITH and DAVIS were eventually located and arrested without incident at a residence on Aldrin St in Woodbridge.
