Prince William firefighters and police to play soccer tournament for charity

Local 2598 Prince William Professional Fire Fighters in conjunction with the Prince William County Police Association will be hosting the second annual Prince William Cup charity soccer tournament on September 27th at Patriot High School at 10504 Kettle Run Road, Nokesville.  The 27th is planned to be a FREE public safety community day with two soccer games as the background.  There will be 50/50 raffles, food, car seat checks, DJ, fire trucks, police cruisers, bounce houses and various events just to name some of the fun.

This event has been several months in the making, with semi-final games being held on September 13th.  The 27th is planned to be the consolation game at 1pm followed by the championship at 3pm.  The police and fire departments have both put together two teams, each team playing for worthy charities.

The teams each raised funds to pay a $750 entry fee which is being used to fill a large “charity pot.”  The funds collected by each team will benefit the following charities: Concerns Of Police Survivors, SERVE Northern Virginia Family Service, CASA Court Appointed Social Advocates, and the Prince William Professional Fire Fighters’ Operation Warm.

Members of Prince William’s business community have graciously stepped up to offer prizes for our raffles and the event is poised to be a great celebration of the County to which we all serve.
