3 to be honored with family values award

On June 6, Centreville Virginia Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will award area elected officials and leaders with family values awards.

The ceremony will be at the Centreville Virginia Stake Center on Upperridge Drive in Centreville at 2 p.m.

Father Ramón Dominguez of the Don Bosco Center, Youth Apostles Institute
Tribute presenter: The Honorable Hal Parrish, Mayor of Manassas

Pastor Barry White of the Park Valley Church, Haymarket, Virginia
Tribute presenter: The Honorable Pete Candland, Prince William County Supervisor (Gainesville District)

The Honorable Tim Hugo, Virginia House of Delegates
Tribute presenter: The Honorable Barbara Comstock, U.S. House of Representatives (Virginia 10th District)

The award is given to individuals each year, to recognize their work to promote traditional family values.

“We are privileged to have these great leaders in our area and today we honor them for their tireless efforts to lift up and reinforce the role of families in society. Our three honorees are leaders who envision the importance of the family unit and who devote tireless energy to promote Christ-like service in behalf of the family,” said president of the Centreville Stake Jon Dionne.

DMV residents who turn in their gas-powered lawn tools will receive a FREE Ego Power+ replacement including batteries and chargers, while supplies last.

Compared to gas, electric lawn equipment can reduce emissions, noise pollution, health risks and maintenance costs and time. The program aims to remove about a hundred gas-powered polluting tools from yards in the greater Baltimore-Washington region.

The exchanges will take place the weekends of May 17-19, 2024, and May 31-June 2, 2024, at A Few Cool Hardware Stores network of employee-owned Ace Hardware stores in the DC and Baltimore metro areas.
