6 Charged with Assaulting Police

  • Reginald Lance Bailey, charged with assaulting a police officer was found guilty and was sentenced to 10 days of community service.
  • The case against Robert Lowery was tossed out.

Over the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend, a total of six people were charged with assaulting police officers in Prince William County. Each of the reported assaults took place during separate incidents.

Here’s details from today’s police report:

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] | Assault & Battery on Rescue Personnel – On November 30th at 12:30AM, officers responded to Costa Real located at 8423 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a disorderly call. Officers arrived at the location to assist rescue personnel with an intoxicated individual, later identified as the accused. During the medical transport, the accused spat on a member of the rescue staff. The accused was also able to free his hands and strike an officer aiding in the transport. No injuries were reported. Following the encounter, the accused was arrested.

Charged with assault & battery on a LEO and assault & battery on rescue personnel

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] | Assault & Battery – On November 29th at 5:59PM, officers responded to Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center located at 2300 Opitz Blvd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a disorderly call. The investigation revealed that a patient, later identified as the accused, became disorderly while being treated at the facility. During the encounter, the accused struck a member of the hospital staff before removing his clothing and running around the ER. An officer on an unrelated call at the hospital attempted to detain the accused and was assaulted. Additional officers also responded and were eventually able to take the accused into custody. Minor injuries were reported.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] | Assault & Battery – On November 28th at 11:01AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 6500 block of Atkins Way in Haymarket (20169) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 49 year old woman of Haymarket, reported to police that she was assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance, following a verbal altercation. The accused was subsequently arrested and placed in the back seat of a police cruiser. At that point, the accused was able to reposition and kicked a rear window of the cruiser. An officer standing near the cruiser issued commands to the accused to stop kicking the window. The accused kicked the window a second time causing the glass to shatter. As a result, glass chards struck the officer causing minor lacerations to his arm and head. The officer was treated at the scene.

Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, assault & battery and destruction of property

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On November 27th at 9:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8200 block of Ancient Oak Ct in Manassas (20111) to investigate a disorderly call. Officers arrived and located the accused outside of the residence. Officers further learned that the accused was intoxicated and had been involved in a domestic assault which took place in another jurisdiction shortly before this incident. While officers were attempting to gather more information, the accused became agitated and pushed one of the officers. Following a brief struggle, the accused was eventually detained without further incident. Minor injuries were reported.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] | Domestic Assault & Battery –On November 27th at 3:54PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12200 block of Charles Lacy Dr in Manassas (20112) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 59 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she was assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance, following a verbal altercation. The accused actively resisted when officers attempted to arrest him. At one point, the accused struck one of the officers in the face. After a brief struggle, the accused was eventually detained without further incident. Minor injuries were reported.

Christopher Wilson HERNANDEZ, 32, of the 12200 block of Charles Lacy Dr in Manassas

Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, domestic assault & battery and resisting arrest

Court date: February 6, 2015 | Bond: held WITHOUT bond

 

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On November 30th at 3:15AM, officers responded to the 6400 block of Ashby Grove Lp in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that he was asleep inside his home when he woke to a sound coming from a window. Upon checking the residence, the homeowner observed a suspect fleeing through the yard area of the home. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing. A responding officer located an intoxicated man in a running vehicle near the home of the reported burglary. Officers made contact and identified the driver as the accused. The accused actively resisted when officers attempted to arrest him. At one point, the accused kicked one of the officers multiple times. After a brief struggle, the accused was eventually detained without further incident. Minor injuries were reported. The burglary incident is still under investigation.

Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, driving under the influence, unreasonable refusal and obstruction of justice
