Man Waves Machete, Threatens Officers

WOODBRIDGE, Va. – On August 14, a man was arrested for waving a machete and threatening police officers. According to the report, the man tried to run away but was caught and arrested with no injuries.  

Here’s the latest from Prince William police:

Brandishing a Machete | Resisting Arrest – On August 14th at 6:03PM, officers responded to the 13800 block of Shoppers Best Way in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a brandishing. Multiple callers reported to police that an unknown man was in the parking lot in the above area waving a machete in the air and threatening others. Officers arrived in the area and located the man, later identified as the accused. The accused was still in possession of the machete and began to run from officers. After a short foot chase, the accused was detained without further incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. The accused was also wanted on unrelated charges.

William Robert HARGROW, 33, of no fixed address

Charged with brandishing a machete and resisting arrest

Court date: September 23, 2014 | Bond: held WITHOUT bond
