Police: Belt Used to Beat Girl, 14

WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Police say a woman used her hands and a belt to beat a 14-year-old girl. Police said the suspect is a family member of the victim.

Felony Cruelty and Injury to a Child – On July 2nd, detectives from the Physical Abuse Unit responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 13700 block of Keelingwood Cir in Woodbridge (22191). The victim, a 14 year old female juvenile, reported to police that she was assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance. During the encounter, the accused used her hands and a belt to strike the victim to her face, hands, back, arms, and legs. The victim sustained significant injuries. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

                Arrested on July 2nd:

                Alicia Lashawn SKINNER, 40, of the 13700 block of Keelingwood Cir in Woodbridge

                Charged with felony cruelty and injury to a child

                Court date: unavailable | Bond: $8,000 unsecured
