News Substance in Mason Jar Prompted Fire and Rescue Response
MANASSAS, Va. — Fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the 10000 block of Azalea Grove Court, just off Hastings Drive behind the Wellington Shopping Center, for a report of a hazardous materials situation about 7 p.m.
But, as it turns out, it was no HAZMAT but rather some liquid contained in a Mason Jar that had spilled.
Manassas spokeswoman Patty Prince said crews cleared the scene quickly after they determined the substance was not harmful.
Afterward, city fire crews attended at party at a firehouse to celebrate a fellow firefighter’s 50th birthday. They posted about the celebration on their Facebook page.Send news and photos to Potomac Local
