DALE CITY, Va. — A pedestrian was struck and killed this morning in the area of Dale Boulevard and Interstate 95.

The person was struck about 8:45 a.m. We’re working on getting more details on this story.

Virginia State Police are handling the investigation.

The area where the pedestrian was struck and killed is a busy interchange where drivers enter and exit the highway. It became the center of police activity three years ago when officers disbanded several homeless camps in wooded areas around the interchange. Some of the homeless camps have since returned to those areas.
