Cleon “Clink” A. Cole Sr.

Cleon “Clink” A. Cole Sr., 83, of Catlett, VA passed away peacefully on January 14, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Clink was born July 12, 1930 in Vermont, son of Evelyn Cole. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, going to yard sales, traveling, camping and skating. In 1955, he met Florence Elizabeth Cohen at a roller skating rink and they were married 6 months later on November 7, 1955 at a Baptist Church in MD. Together they have lived in Alexandria, Arlington, Manassas Park, and Manassas and settled in Catlett, VA.

Clink was in the Army for 4 years. After he got out of the Army he worked for Perrin and Martin Sheet Metal then continued working with sheet metal with VA Heating and Air, Hensley and Associates and TLC Heating and Air. Clink was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved being around his family and his puppies; he always had a puppy in his arms. His sense of humor will long be remembered.

Clink is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Flo, their son Cleon “Clink” A. Cole Jr. and his wife Kimberlee Cole of Catlett, VA; daughter, Sharon L. Coles and her husband Roger Coles Sr. of Catlett, VA. Clink is also survived by his grandchildren, Regina Burner and her husband Aaron Burner, Roger Coles Jr. and his wife Lisa Coles, Ryan Coles and his wife Juliann Coles, Jennifer Short and her husband Curtis Short, Heather Higgins and her husband Micah Higgins, Michael Cole and his wife Jessica Cole, Andrew Cole, Alisha Cole, Ashlee Cole and 19 great grandchildren. Clink was preceded in death by his mom and brother, Evelyn Cole and Clif Cole.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Rd. Manassas, VA 20110. A Funeral Service will be held in the Baker-Post Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 pm with Rev. B.R. Yarbrough officiating.

Interment will be at Catlett Methodist Cemetery, Catlett VA. Pallbearers will be Roger Coles Jr., Ryan Coles, Michael Cole, Andrew Cole, Curtis Short and Micah Higgins.

The exchanges will take place the weekends of May 17-19, 2024, and May 31-June 2, 2024, at A Few Cool Hardware Stores network of employee-owned Ace Hardware stores in the DC and Baltimore metro areas.
