Jail Inmate Released for Medical Care Didn’t Return

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — A woman was released from jail on bond to have an abortion authorities said. When she was supposed to reappear in court Oct. 3 she was not where to be found.

The suspect was released from the Rappahannock Regional Jail in Stafford County.

The county’s sheriff’s department is looking for her and put out this press release:

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating or reporting the whereabouts of Kristy Lechelle Cokley aka Kristy Lechelle Eura, age 28 of Fredericksburg.

Kristy Cokley is wanted in Stafford County for her Failure to Appear in Stafford County Circuit Court after the court had allowed her to be out on bond so that she could have a medical procedure. She was released on bond on September 26, 2013 and was required to be back in court on October 3, 2013. Cokley is also wanted in the City of Fredericksburg and also has other charges pending in Caroline and Spotsylvania County.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is requesting that if anyone knows the whereabouts of Kristy Cokley to contact the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office at 540-658-4400, Call Stafford Crime Solvers at 540-659-2020 (if the information leads to an arrest and conviction you can receive up to $1,000.00 reward-the caller may remain anonymous) or TEXT “Stafford + your tip to CRIMES (27463).

Potomac Local News contacted the Rapphannock Regional Jail Thursday morning to obtain more information on the circumstances of the suspect’s release but received no answer. More as we have it.
