Manassas Police Sting Ohio Man in Child Porn Investigation

MANASSAS, Va. — Authorities field charges against an Ohio man after an 8-month investigation that turned up child pornography and attempts to lure children across state lines for sexual purposes.

More in a press release:

During the early morning hours of October 8, 2013 Manassas City Police Investigators, in conjunction with the Northern Virginia-District of Columbia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (NOVA/DC ICAC), the Virginia State Police and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) (Washington, D.C. and Cincinnati Field Offices), and the North College Hill Police Department, executed a search warrant in the 5800 block of McCray Ct in Cincinnati, OH. The search warrant stemmed from an eight-month investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography and persons attempting to solicit minors over state lines for sexual purposes.

As a result of the search warrant, numerous items were removed from the residence. Michael Eugene Hendrix (60) of 5816 McCray Ct, Cincinnati, OH was identified as the suspect through investigation and interviews. Hendrix was arrested on October 8, 2013 and charged with distribution of child pornography and use of a communications device to solicit a minor. He is currently awaiting extradition from the state of Ohio back to Virginia. A court date is pending in the juvenile and domestic relations court in Fairfax County.

The NOVA/DC ICAC and Manassas City Police are asking the public if they have additional information regarding the above-listed case to call 703-257-8092 or Crime Solvers at 703-330-0330.
